some irritation with heteroskedasticity testing
Dear all, Trying to test for heteroskedasticity I tried several test from the car package respectively lmtest. Now that they produce rather different results i am somewhat clueless how to deal with it. Here is what I did: 1. I plotted fitted.values vs residuals and somewhat intuitively believe, it isn't really increasing... 2. further I ran the following tests bptest (studentized

Correct for heteroscedasticity using car package
Dear all, Sorry if this is too obvious. I am trying to fit my multiple regression model using lm() Before starting model simplification using step() I checked whether the model presented heteroscedasticity with ncv.test() from the CAR package. It presents it. I want to correct for it, I used hccm() from the CAR package as well and got the Heteroscedasticity-Corrected Covariance Matrix. I am not

Adding an trinsics in x86
Hi Everyone! I am a newbie at llvm. So the question may be fundamental but difficult to me. I want to add an trinsics in x86 and make the following changes.I want that max_qb can find the max of two Integers and return it. In src/include/llvm/IR/Intrinsics.td : let TargetPrefix = "x86" in { def int_x86_max_qb: GCCBuiltin<"__builtin_x86_max_qb">,

function to generate weights for lm?
Hi, I would like to use a weighted lm model to reduce heteroscendasticity. I am wondering if the only way to generate the weights in R is through the laborious process of trial and error by hand. Does anyone know if R has a function that would automatically generate the weights need for lm? Thanks, -- Tom [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

Which gls models to use?
Hi, I need to correct for ar(1) behavior of my residuals of my model. I noticed that there are multiple gls models in R. I am wondering if anyone has experience in choosing between gls models. For example, how should one decide whether to use lm.gls in MASS, or gls in nlme for correcting ar(1)? Does anyone have a preference? Any advice is appreciated! Thanks, -- Tom [[alternative HTML

time series data failing ncv test
For a set of data showing seasonality (related to the 4th quarter), ncv test in R shows p-value of 0.008 which rejects the null hypothesis of constant-variance. How to apply White's standard error in R? thanks ______________________________________________________________________ The information transmitted, including any attachments, is intended only for the person or entity to

time series data failing non-constant variance test
For a set of data showing seasonality (related to the 4th quarter), ncv test shows p-value of 0.008 which rejects the null hypothesis of constant-variance. Currently a linear LM relationship is being applied to the data. Should white's error be used to correct the non-constant variance? Are the p-values of the coefficients unreliable? thanks

AC-97 problem between RELENG_4_8 and RELENG_4
Sorry if this is a known problem... I've been tracking RELENG_4 on my Toshiba laptop for a while now; a couple of months ago (not sure when) my sound stopped working. More specifically, when it gets to the pcm probe, the boot hangs. I dual-boot with WinXP and figured that somehow XP had hosed the hardware, so I wrote it off. Today, I made world with RELENG_4_8, and voila, my sound's

wpi driver freeze on boot
I've got a HP dv8000 laptop. Setting up the wpi driver for wireless freezes the system on boot with the following error: wpi0 requested unsupported memory range wpi0: could not allocate memory resource It lists a pcbi device (pcbi4 i think) and an actual memory range, but since I have to reboot using kernel.old the /var/run/dmesg.boot is wiped with the info. Is there anyway to grab the

kmem_malloc crash with 4.8
Hi. I've recently borrowed a SuperMicro 6013P-8 from a vendor for the purposes of testing it to see if FreeBSD and these machines will make a good replacements for our current flock of 11 Netra T1s running solaris. Things are going very well with the tests, with the glaring exception of the following crash: While doing some significant disk operations: du, deleting a different part of the

Crash dump in umount
Hello. I'm having a 4.7Rp9 server which is since months quite unstable, so I've compiled a debug kernel and got a crash dump. I'm a programmer and I know a little how to use gdb, I'm not so expert about FreeBSD kernel insides however, so I can't get much from it. Any kind of help is appreciated. This is the crash message: IdlePTD at phsyical address 0x0032f000 initial pcb
