proj4R library will not install
I'm hoping someone can help me. I have downloaded the proj4R.zip and under my version of R (2.3.1) I install the package from local zip file. This worked great. I then type library(proj4R) to load the library and I get the error: Error in library(proj4R) : 'proj4R' is not a valid package -- installed < 2.0.0? I have read through the install documentation and have downloaded and

compiling under windows
What is the best way to set up a project in visual studio, work on R and re compile? Is it better to use a different compiler or programming environment? I specifically want to work on C and Fortran extensions. Philip Bermingham [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

Modifying the parameters for a function
I have modified the parameters for a function (for my own use) in the stats package, but I assume I need to update the parameter set in another file as I'm getting the following error when I run R: The compile works fine so I assume there is a configuration file in the base package of R that needs modification. Cell Phone SMS
Though this is not exactly an asterisk question, I have thoughts of asterisk integration. Does anyone know how I might get a several digit SMS code and allow people to SMS it? The second step is, is there a way to charge their bill x dollars when they do that (ie for a donation to a non-profit type thing). -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Oracle database on zfs
Hi, I am wondering if there is a guideline on how to configure ZFS on a server with Oracle database? We are experiencing some slowness on writes to ZFS filesystem. It take about 530ms to write a 2k data. We are running Solaris 10 u5 127127-11 and the back-end storage is a RAID5 EMC EMX. This is a small database with about 18gb storage allocated. Is there a tunable parameters that we can apply to

SYSLinux/ISOLinux question
Look into the original XP cd and see where NTLDR is located, then place it on your cd in the same directory and it 'should' work. I have created some 2000 XP boot cd's with integrated recent service pack's and they still boot. But I do that with cdrecord+original boot sector, not with any isolinux stuff... But I hope this help! -----Original Message----- From: G. Murali

Supporting WinImage compressed images
I am using PXELINUX, ISOLINUX, and memdisk in my project (http://unattended.sourceforge.net/). When memdisk gained support for compressed images, I started using it because it is cool. I used gzip to compress floppy.img to create floppy.imz, and all was good. But now my users are complaining that they cannot use WinImage (a Windows floppy image editing tool) to edit my floppy.imz files. I have

Caching of classes non working or Howto?
Hello! I m new to rails. I m playing around with it on a SuSE 10.0 box with ruby 1.8.2 and gems and rails and postgres. rails xyz creates a nice rails application, with its directory and ruby script/server runs webrick nicely and lets me see the page on localhost:3000. I went with some tutorial to create a Hello page showing the time and a Bye-Link to link to an Bye page. cat

unified meta-data handling ogg/theora/vorbis
Hey all, I'm working on a media-database art project that basically stores a bunch of sound and video files, which are then navigated based on meta-data. I'm not sure where to start asking these, questions, here seemed like a good start. So I was thinking I should use an open format, like ogg/vorbis/theora. I also thought, will all that coll meta-data stuff in ogg I should be able to

Backing up ZFS snapshots
I have an OpenSolaris snv_105 server at home that holds my photos, docs, music, etc, in a zfs pool. I backup my laptops with rsync to the OpenSolaris server. All of my important data is in one place, on the OpenSolaris server. I want to backup this data. I want to protect against losing my data, and I would also like to recover previous versions of files when I make mistakes. * I do not have a

Offtopic: nfs, tmpfs and `getfh failed: Operation not permitted'
Sorry this is off-topic, but I'm scrambling to get this system in, google didn't help, and I'm sure someone on this list knows the answer cold. I'm trying to nfs-export a tmpfs disk. I saw a hint from a response about ram disks... which leads to my guess that tmpfs simply doesn't implement some method that nfsd needs. I can probably survive without tmpfs, but I'd like to

SYSLINUX 2.01-pre1 released
This isn't strictly speaking a SYSLINUX release, it's a change to MEMDISK and mkdiskimage to allow the creation of hard disk images with DOSEMU headers. This should make it easier to create bootable DOS hard disk images under DOSEMU. ftp://ftp.kernel.org/pub/linux/utils/boot/syslinux/Testing/ -hpa
