How to bind the oracle 9i data file to zfs volumes

Using both starttls and ssl in passdb on proxy results in timeouts
Hi List, I have a dovecot which proxies to different backends depending on an entry in a mysql-database. The mysql-query sets ?ssl? to ?any-cert? and this works fine. But this causes me a problem: sieve-backends only support STARTTLS and if I set ?ssl? to ?any-cert? (or yes), it will attempt a TLS-connection to the sieve-backends, which fails. My attempt was to alter the query to include

patch to add a menu item in Rgui for RSiteSearch
Please consider adding the following to the next R release (I understand that it's too late for R-2.1.0). It adds the menu item `Search R Site' in the `Help' menu in Rgui (which calls RSiteSearch() on the input string). Reduce memory peak when serializing to raw vectors
Hi, I've been doing some tests using serialize() to a raw vector: df <- data.frame(runif(50e6,1,10)) ser <- serialize(df,NULL) In this example the data frame and the serialized raw vector occupy ~400MB each, for a total of ~800M. However the memory peak during serialize() is ~1.2GB: $ cat /proc/15155/status |grep Vm ... VmHWM: 1207792 kB VmRSS: 817272 kB We work with very

Yet another memory limit problem
Dear List, I have read and read and still don't get why I am getting a memory issue.? I am using a Samsung PC running Windows 7.? I have set memory in the target field: ?"C:\Program Files (x86)\R\R-2.11.1\bin\Rgui.exe" --max-mem-size=3G But when I try a simple plot I get: >?? plot(mydat$Date, mydat$Time) Error: cannot allocate vector of size 831.3 Mb > memory.size() [1]

Some questions about PCI-passthrough for HVM(Non-IOMMU)
Hello, I saw some patches about PCI-passthrough for HVM(non-IOMMU) and I am interested in it. I want to assign my graphics card(nVidia GeForce 7900GS) to an HVM domain (Vista) in order to run 3D-intensive work(for example, 3D-games). What I want to ask is that is it really possible to pass the graphics card to HVM domain running Vista now? That is, have anyone ever successfully

Reduce memory peak when serializing to raw vectors
Presumably one could stream over the data twice, the first to get the size, without storing the data. Slower but more memory efficient, unless I'm missing something. courier-dovecot-migrate.pl maintaining order of pop3 uidl's
Hi there, I've just been experimenting with the latest courier-dovecot-migrate.pl script and I notice that it favours keeping pop3 UIDL ordering rather than IMAP UID preservation. There is this comment (line 312): # POP3 clients may want to get POP3 UIDLs in the same order always. # Preserve the order even if it causes IMAP UIDs to change. Does anyone have details as to which

Hi, I am running dovecot 1.1.10 and 1.1.11 on Solaris 10, mailboxes are in mbox format and served by Solaris 10 NFSv3, the dovecot cache is on local disk. Some of my users always had above nfs error and their mailbox usually very big, over 100M, 400M, or even 800M. Grandy

Server to server communication
Hi all, I have 2 servers online and wish them to communicate and exchange information with each other at times. I have been developing a web application which is extremely CPU-intensive, and since I don't want to overload the main server which deals with the apache/php/mysql stuff, I got a separate server (a phenom) to deal with it. I prefer the communication to be secure, low latency,

Long pause.
Hi everyone, I'm trying to rsync a large directory. After pondering on the list-of-files, it's now more or less doing nothing. It's running for over 4 hours now, not doing anything except eating CPUtime on the destination for over half an hour. I don't know what it was doing before that. The stdout of the rsync reported: 4675350 files to consider (which is about right)

Large RAM (> 4G) and rsync still dies?
Hello. Hopefully someone can shed some light on this: We've got a production server with _LOTS_ of files on it. The system is a dual XEON with 4GB of RAM. During the evening, the load is very low. Linux shows (via 'top') that approximately 3G of RAM is cached RAM, and 500M is buffered. That, if my understanding is correct, should leave us with 3.5G of available memory to draw
