Controlling dovecot caching decisions
Hello, It looks like the "mail_always_cache_fields" and "mail_never_cache_fields" can be used to control dovecot's caching decisions. I cannot seem to find any documentation regarding how these fields should be used. What are acceptable values for these fields? I am quite new to this so any help would be much appreciated. Regards, Siva -------------- next part

Bursty writes - why?
I have a 24 x 1TB system being used as an NFS file server. Seagate SAS disks connected via an LSI 9211-8i SAS controller, disk layout 2 x 11 disk RAIDZ2 + 2 spares. I am using 2 x DDR Drive X1s as the ZIL. When we write anything to it, the writes are always very bursty like this: ool 488K 20.0T 0 0 0 0 xpool 488K 20.0T 0 0 0 0 xpool

Inadequate error checking in rsync 2.5.5
I'm using rsync to mirror files from a Windows XP machine mounted via smbfs. Apparently I have something configured wrong as I get a "permisson denied" error accessing some of the files on the smbfs mount with cp, od, etc. However, rsync produces no error messages on these files. It happily creates files in the target directory that are the right size, but filled with null bytes.

"out of memory" error when starting Domain 0
Hi, I''m about to start a Masters research project which will use Xen. As such I''m trying to get it to work on my laptop (IBM T40). I''ve built Xen 2.0.1 from the source tarball using the default .config file for the 2.6.9 kernel. I''m using Suse 9.1 as the distribution on top. When I boot Xen, It seems to boot the Xen hypervisitor ok, then starts booting

SSD partitioned into multiple L2ARC read cache
What would the performance impact be of splitting up a 64 GB SSD into four partitions of 16 GB each versus having the entire SSD dedicated to each pool? kernel messages: alignment check: 0000 [#1] SMP
Hi, This is just to report about the "alignment check: 0000 [#1] SMP" kernel messages in one of my build system (domU) running Scientific Linux 6.1. I am compiling/rpm package for sbcl (http://sbcl.sourceforge.net/) in my build system (domU) and hit the following kernel messages although the domU in question still running and compilation still in progress. I have done some searching

Jackknife in Logistic Regression
Dear R friends I´m interested into apply a Jackknife analysis to in order to quantify the uncertainty of my coefficients estimated by the logistic regression. I´m using a glm(family=’binomial’) because my independent variable is in 0 - 1 format. My dataset has 76000 obs, and I´m using 7 independent variables plus an offset. The idea involves to split the data in let’s say 5 random subsets and

Multistage Sampling
Dear WizaRds, dear Thomas, First of all, I want to tell you how grateful I am for all your support. I wish I will be able to help others along one day the same way you do. Thank you so much. I am struggling with a multistage sampling design: library(survey) multi3 <- data.frame(cluster=c(1,1,1,1 ,2,2,2, 3,3), id=c(1,2,3,4, 1,2,3, 1,2), nl=c(4,4,4,4, 3,3,3, 2,2), Nl=c(100,100,100,100,

Meet Me Configuration
I am trying to configure MeetMe so that external callers can enter the conference rooms after an IVR menu. I have created Conf rooms for all internal Ext's with a prefix of 8. When I call into the system from my vonage trunck the IVR picks up but will not let me dial a conf room. It tells me it is a invalid extension. Can anyone help with a sample conf on this? Thanks, RC

RE: Newbee question (hot phone numbers)
Just dropping a note about hot-desking I believe hot-desking requires hot phone numbers. These hot phone # should not be connected to physical phones but rather to a database entry from where the physical phone(s) is(are) retrieved. Users should be able to modify (securely) their own database record. I'm currently trying to understand Bluetooth and the Norwood Bluetooth initiative.

Priv Sep SSH has / as CWD
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi, This may or may not be a bug. However, it is DEFINITELY NOT how I would expect and want to see sshd work! If you run lsof against sshd on a privilege separated user, it shows that sshd's CWD is /. I would hope that the CWD would be at a minimum /var/empty/sshd and I would really have thought it would be something along the lines of

rsync 2.6.0 (final) released
I've released version 2.6.0 of rsync. Two important things to note in the new release: 1. The default remote shell is now "ssh" unless you tell the configure you want to use something else. 2. Some bug fixes in the include/exclude code, while making things work properly, have resulted in some user-visible changes for certain wildcard strings. Read the

$HOME/.shosts and setegid()
Hello, The ssh deamon from OpenSSH_2.5.2p2 first does a seteuid(uid) and then stat($HOME/.shosts) to check whether a .shosts file is there. This seems to be a problem when homedirectories are only accessible "by group permission"; for example in the following (as I guess quite common) case: drwxr-x--- root mygroup 512 Apr 10 12:09 mygroup And my personal homedirectory would now
