Samba vscan VFS Module
I'm trying to configure Samba's vscan on-access VFS module on a box with a working CLAM installation. [CLAM is merrily scanning mail on this box via clamav-milter]. I've set this up before, but this time it seems to be giving me grief. If I remove the vscan-clamav module then everything works, and I can open files. When I try to open a file with the module enable I just get a file

spatial/ patches and gaps/ SADIE
System: Linux kernel 2.6.15 Ubuntu dapper R version 2.4.1 ESS on Emacs 21.4.1 ------------------------- Colleagues I have some spatial patterns of sardine eggs (presence /absence) over 50 years (270 surveys) and I'd like to quantify the patches and gaps to determine how many patches (i.e. spawning areas) there were before the fishery collapse (1951-1965) and during recovery (post 1985).

Does tdb can store incorrect encoding symbols?
Hello, All! I found that Samba checks description fields encoding at various tdb files to late. Case 1. FreeBSD with UTF-8 support. At some cases FreeBSD's adduser script can save incorrect UTF-8 sequence to GECOS /etc/passwd field. (Here is example http://www.acc.tula.ru/~acc107_3/samba/miscoding/gecos.txt) When user is added to Samba, Samba reads GECOS field "as is" without

Win9x Cannot Find Server, WinY2k Can
I have a Samba 3.0.0 PDC (and WINS server) that has been running fine for some time. I also have Samba fileserver running 3.0.0. The PDC is "littleboy" and the fileserver is "sardine". This configuration has been stable since the day after 3.0.0 came out, and we were running 3.0.0pre(s) on the PDC before 3.0.0 was released and that was stable as well. Now (or as of 10/16)

how to use multiple UPS with timers
Yes both UPS units are on different power supplies. MINSUPPLIES is set to 1. Afaik NUT waits for OB and LB before shutting down the system. Is there a way to change this behavior to only wait for OB? Then I would use FINALDELAY in case the power outage doesn't last long. I already tried to change the battery.runtime.low setting over the webinterface of the CS121 (snmp is readonly) but with

Why (&(objectClass=sambaDomain)(sambaDomainName=SARDINE))?
I have a member server that is constantly querying the LDAP server with - (&(objectClass=sambaDomain)(sambaDomainName=SARDINE)) - when security=domain and workgroup=backbone. The server DOES authenticate domain users, and everything seems to work, but this draining resources. This is RH9, Samba 3.0.3pre2 (although I'm pretty certain I saw this on 3.0.2) and OpenLDAP openldap-2.1.25-1

problems trying to reproduce structural equation model using the sem package
Hello, I've been unsuccessfully trying to reproduce a sem from Grace et al. (2010) published in Ecological Monographs: http://www.esajournals.org/doi/pdf/10.1890/09-0464.1 The model in question is presented in Figure 8, page 81. The errors that I've been getting are: 1. Using a correlation matrix: res.grace <- sem(grace.model, S = grace, N = 190) Warning message: In sem.default(ram

Barplot with "Independent" Lines Y axis
Hi list. I'm plotting pluviometric (Rain) data as a barplot, and then adding the salinity variable to this plot as lines. Obviously as these Y scales are completely different the salinity appears at the lower part of the graph extremely compacted. I need to plot the line at the exactly same area of the barplot but with its own Y axis (at the right), so the salinity can use the plot area

Differencing data by groups
Colleagues, I am analyzing data collected during oceanographic cruises. We have conducted many cruises over the last decade. On each cruise we visit ~50 stations. At each station (termed EventNum)we lower an instrument that measures depth, temperature, salinity and oxygen every few seconds as it is lowered through the water. Data from all EventNums on all cruises are stacked, generating a data

Help with loop
Hi, I have used R for some time, but managed to avoid writing loops. But this time I am afraid there is no way around it. I have a dataframe with time and salinity (see below). I would like to extract the time intervals where salinity changes by less than 0.05. So using the values below this would mean that a subset was made from 2003-07-19 to 2003-07-24, where the change in salinity exceeded

how to use multiple UPS with timers
Hi, I need to shut down a VMWare host if both connected UPS are x minutes on battery. Both UPS are connected via SNMP. Because there are multiple vm running on that host, shutting every vm down takes some time. So most likely, waiting for low battery, the time left won't be enough. I tried overwriting the settings for low battery but that didn't work. Are timers the only possible
