It would appear to me that there is a bug in the postscript device when multiple pages are required. Line widths can be only 1 after the first page. In 'normal' plotting, by using text(.... outer = TRUE), I can set a title that can refer to multiple plots. I'm trying to achieve a similar effect with several trellis objects with which I wish to use a common key. I can only think of complicated ways of achieving such an end by using a separate grid graphic which didn't have any plot, but text only. Is there something more

In "normal" plots, I can do an axis at side = 2 and a different one at side = 4. I've not been able to figure out how to do the same thing with lattice plots. The scales list can have only one sublist named y. I had thought of using a separate viewport alongside with the text for the axis label, but I can't see how I could get the ticks to work. I find the key and legend functions in Lattice very useful. Trouble is, now I can see what else I'd like to be able to do with them. If I put a title on a key, it appears too close to the key itself, and if there's a line break in the title (which often happens), the leading between the lines is too much.
