Bug in miniR installation (PR#7448)
While installing the windows miniR programm the setup wizard looks for the MINIR-1.bin, but the downloaded file is named MINIR_1.bin. In consequence installation aborts. The user can fix this bug by changing manually the dash of the file name. Please, make sure that both the setup wizard and the .bin refer to the same sintax. Thanks! Luis Frank

about the "mini-distribution" (R for Win )
Dear all, I've just downloaded the miniR.exe, miniR-1.bin,....,miniR-8.bin in order to update R to 1.6.2 (I cannot download the file of 19Mb !). The installation seems to have worked fine, but I can't find in the /bin dir several files that were, for instance, in the /bin directory in the version 1.5.1 In particular the file Rcmd.exe is missing, therefore I cannot run R in BATCH mode (I

Bryan Smith: Thanks for the IPCop recommendation
A few weeks back I had tried to install CentOS on my old AMD 5x6x (equiv to P75 performance) with plans to use it as my firewall and router. Because there were some problems relating to RPM compile architecture (apparently), I posted and Bryan suggested IPCop, even at peril to his life on these lists ;-) according to him. ;-) ;-) Just wanted to tell him thanks, it's worked out well. I am totally lost on how to install R . . .
First . . . SUBSCRIBE (I want to subscribe to the list). Second, I am trying to install R on windows XP. In looking at the instruction manual I get the following: The simplest way is to use 'rw1081.exe' or 'miniR.exe'. Just double-click on the icon and follow the instructions. If you installed R this way you can uninstall it from the Control Panel. How do I get the

seatools for DOS
I downloaded the 'seatools for DOS' diskette creator on seagate website. it's a windows program that creates the diskette; so a floppy disk must be present in the drive. running the program is ok, but creating the diskette fails, it says "the current diskette format not valid". while the diskette is blank, vfat, mounted and linked to a: in wine; so everything seems to be ok.

more: Have install diskette for 3.0, but can't find the .img for 4.0
I have found something called: diskboot.img at: http://www.gtlib.gatech.edu/pub/centos/4/os/i386/images/ But it is 6Mb large (6411Kb) instead of 1411Kb And the rawreadwrirewin program gets an error on it when run on NT. On Win2000, it makes a diskette that fails to boot.. So really, HELP!!!! I 'just' discovered that my old bootable diskette is for Centos 3.0, and my other CDs are

Removing LLVM testing tools from the install distribution
Should the binaries included in an LLVM release be generally useful to a wide audience of toolchain users, or is it OK to ship tools that are only really useful for LLVM development? If the former is the case, can we consider not shipping tools which are exclusively for testing the compiler? E.g removing these 5 binaries from 5.0.2-rc1 would have saved over a hundred megabytes in uncompressed

Syslinux 1.75, LEAF Bering 1.2, Compaq 2266
I have been using the LEAF Bering firewall for a year or so. It boots with Syslinux 1.75. But Bering is too large for a 1440KB floppy, so it formats the diskette as 1680KB. Recently I found a small Compaq 2266 box to replace a larger Compaq 7170 to run the firewall. But when I try to boot the Bering diskette on the 2266 I get the following message: Loading Linux ............ Boot failed:

Removing LLVM testing tools from the install distribution
Please keep llvm-symbolizer in the install distribution. If a user's program crashes then I like to print out a backtrace with file name/line number if compiled with debug. Forking off llvm-symbolizer is the easiest way for me to obtain the debug information. Thanks. Removing LLVM testing tools from the install distribution
A new one was just added recently - Clang's diagtool. So if you're looking at how to reduce install size, might want to double check that the motivation for adding that is consistent with/not contradictory with your goals/motivations for removing these. (also since several of these are clang binaries/tools - maybe check with the cfe-dev list too) On Mon, May 14, 2018 at 2:27 PM Vedant

R patched for Windows missing
R patched for Windows seems to be missing. If one clicks on R-2.2.0pat-win32.exe at, say, http://stat.ethz.ch/CRAN/bin/windows/base/rpatched.html then an error occurs. I tried it at several mirror sites with the same result. The web page in question says: This directory contains a Windows binary build of R including patches up to 2005-10-24.

feature request: gzip support in syslinux itself
HPA, is it possible to add GZ support in syslinux itself? Some standalone software compresses very well, but is not compressed. Example is the Memtest86+ binary (90KB uncompressed --> 35KB gzip'd) and maybe Smart Boot Manager (gzip'd COM32 binary instead of normal COM32 binary?). I'm using both on a simple bootdisk, and all space savings are welcome. a workaround could ofcourse

syslinux / antique computers
Hi, is there an easy way to circumvent the SYSLINUX novice protection thing? intended users don't know about CTRL key to circumvent it. I'm trying to make a generic bootdisk for systems of 8086 - Pentium4. however the bootdisk is slow, so I'd like to use Syslinux + Memdisk to load a diskette image. then the text displayed to user will be: 1) FreeDOS bootdisk (accelerated, 386

Boot diskette for install CD
(New to CentOS and just joined the list.) Is there a boot diskette image for the install CD? I want to install CentOS in a classroom that does not have CD boot enabled. I couldn''t find one on the install CD, although it did have a USB flash drive boot image. I''m pretty sure that the machines in the classroom are too old to be able to boot from USB flash drives. (I will check on

COM32 module for detecting Memdisk?
I know there's a module to check which syslinux bootloader was used, but is there also a module for detecting MEMDISK? Basicly I want to use the same isolinux.cfg for a CD which boots an ISO. Issue is that the inner ISO also uses same Isolinux (+ menu), which isn't very user-friendly. So: CD --> ISOLINUX (menu) --> MEMDISK CDROM.ISO --> ISOLINUX (menu) --> diskette
