messages_count too large (1121 > 1115)
I've seen this was mentioned before but remains unsolved. I upgraded Dovecot from 0.99 to v1.0.alpha4 yesterday and it rendered my inbox inaccessible: Dec 15 00:09:07 sand dovecot: imap(willers): Corrupted index file /home/willers/mail/.imap/INBOX/dovecot.index: messages_count too large (1121 > 1115) I've since moved that inbox away so I can view my new mail again. The error has

strange strsplit gsub problem 0 is this a bug or a string length limitation?
I was working with the rmetrics portfolioBacktesting function and dug into the code to try to find why my formula with 113 items, i.e. A1 thru A113, was being truncated and I only get 85 items, not 113. Is it due to a string length limitation in R or is it a bug in the strsplit or gsub functions, or in my string? I'd very much appreciate any suggestions ============Input script:

SPSS repeated interaction contrast in R
dear all, i'm trying to reproduce an spss-anova in R. It is an 2x3x3 repeated measures desingn with repeated contrasts. In R i've coded a contrast matrix for all factors and made a split in the aov summary - but I can't get the repeated interaction contrasts. The output from SPSS looks like this: TaskSw * CongNow * CongBefore: SS df Mean Square F Sig. 1 vs. 2 1 vs. 2 1 vs. 2

troubles with a for loop
Dear all, I am a stata user and I am moving my first steps in R. I am dealing with a silly issue concerning looping over variables. I read previous posts on similar topics in the R help archive, but I did not find a solution. Here is my case: I run a simple bivariate linear regression saving the output in objects called: pd.memb.0, pd.memb.1, pd.memb.2, pd.memb.3 pd.memb.0 <- lm(E.fs.memb ~

[LLVMdev] Yet another MSVC fix
Sorry, I was too fast. There is more... But now all compiles fine. However I'm not very satisfied with the Constants.patch since I don't know for 100% sure what's going on. OK, I know that MSVC tries to instantiate the virtual member function FoldingSet<MDNode>::GetNodeProfile where gcc seems to be more relaxed on the instantiation of template functions. But I have no idea

building in AIXV5.3 using the IBM C for AIX compiler V6.0
What fun. I don't often stoke up the boiler and actually compile open-source code, but here I am at the beginning of just such a joyous and wondrous adventure. I'm running the latest level of AIX (V5.3...V4.3 has been obsolete for at least, what, 5 years) and using the IBM compiler (xlc is similarly obsolete, from back when the compiler came with the O/S...oh, for the halcyon days of

clustering fuzzy
hello, i'm pete ,how can i order rows of matrix by max to min value? I have a matrix of membership degrees, with 82 (i) rows and K coloumns, K are clusters. I need first and second largest elements of the i-th row. for example 1 0.66 0.04 0.01 0.30 2 0.02 0.89 0.09 0.00 3 0.06 0.92 0.01 0.01 4 0.07 0.71 0.21 0.01 5 0.10 0.85 0.04 0.01 6 0.91 0.04 0.02 0.02 7 0.00 0.01 0.98 0.00 8 0.02

Possible memory leak in loop.
I was trying to use memory.size() to determine whether a code loop I am executing created a memory leak, since one replicate of the simulation takes 670.98 seconds according to proc.time(), while 5 replicates takes 170762 seconds. So I set it up as: memA <- memory.size() looping code... memB <- memory.size() memA returns as 9.3, and memB returns 11.3. I'm not familiar with

how to obtain the CPU time of my program
Dear R users and experts, I am current running a program (a series of commands) in R. such as: A <- as.matrix(read.table("C:/LP.txt")); a=which(memb==q); b=a; B=as.matrix(A[a,b]) LS=sum(B)/2; TL=sum(A)/2 i<-c(1:NN); D=sum(A[a,i]); how can i obtain the CPU time used for these commands ? I have seen the system.time function but i am not sure how to use it. Could anyone help

How to make a Cluster of Clusters
Dear R-help, In my Master thesis I measured 10 variables from 18 lakes. These measurements were taken 4 times a year in 3 depths, so I have 12 samples from each lake. I know that 12 samples can not be treated as replications, since they don't correspond to the same environmental characteristics and are not statistically independent, but I want to use these 12 samples as an estimate of an

jitter-bug? problematic behaviour of the jitter function
Dear all, i have noticed some strange behaviour in the ?jitter? function in R. On the help page for jitter it is stated that "The result, say r, is r <- x + runif(n, -a, a) where n <- length(x) and a is the amount argument (if specified).? and "If amount is NULL (default), we set a <- factor * d/5 where d is the smallest difference between adjacent unique (apart from fuzz) x

[LLVMdev] teaching FileCheck to handle variations in order
Just adding to the clamor for FileChecks ability to pattern match out-of-order (match for mere presence); Just in the last 2 weeks, I have come across at least a couple instances when I was unable to add small unit tests to the testsuite because of this deficiency in FileCheck. Also, I agree with Krzysztof about the lack of any real recurring overhead. Can this feature please be added to

TDM400p susceptible to EMI?
I have a TDM400p with 3 fxs and 1 fxo daughter cards. It's in a mini-itx case with a 'right-angle' PCI riser card so the TDM400p is 'sandwiched' between the Atom D525 CPU and the 2.5" hard drive. I'm getting a bunch of clicks and pops on all ports. Has anybody had a similar experience? Did you find a solution? -- Thanks in advance,
