filled maps
Hi R-Help,
I would like to make filled contour maps of ocean data overlaid by
costlines from the map package.
I can draw the filled contours and the coastlines om the same plot, but
the filled contour also covers part of the land. To get rid of that I
tried to draw a filled coastline map on top of the filled contour, but
the filled map only draws the closed contours - so most of the land is

'col'-parameter in 'hist.POSIXt'
Hi guys.
The 'col'-parameter in the 'hist'-method for the classes 'POSIXt' and
'date' does not perform as it does in the default 'hist'-method.
Unfortunately, it does not only change the filling color of the boxes,
but also the color of the axislines.
[Using 'graphics'-package version 2.2.0]

Hi
I want to run a Samba PDC with LDAP backend on a FreeBSD 6.2 for Sparc64.

I have this error message when using smbclient on the PDC itself.
The command line is: smbclient -L janus -Uadministrator%toto
The result is: session setup failed: Call returned zero bytes (EOF)

R4.1: seq.POSIXt, tz="AEST" (PR#9572)
Times from seq.POSIXt come out wrong in AEST timezone around Feb 29 every

According to help(DateTimeClasses), this is handled by "our own C code".

Formatting POSIXt values in plot axis labels
Hello.
I have an XYY series that I would like to graph with matplot() or some
other single function that will do the trick.
The X in question is a vector of POSIXt values obtained from strptime().
Is it possible to tell matplot() how to handle POSIXt x values?
I have examined the examples at
http://lark.cc.ukans.edu/~pauljohn/R/statsRus.html#5.22 , but would

hist - unevenly spaced bars
I am sure this is trivial, but I cannot solve it.
I make a histogram. There are 5 categories "1",...,"5" and 80 values and
the histogram does not evenly space the bars.
Bars "1" and "2" have no space between them and the rest are evenly spaced.
How can I get all bars evenly spaced?

Thin bars in R hist !!??
Hi,
I am trying to plot a histogram with my dataset that has 68 elements, 67 of
which are zero and the last one is 18. It can be reproduced as follows:
x<-array(0, dim=(68))
x[1] = 18
I am trying to plot its histogram using:
hist(x, breaks=10, xlim=c(0, 100), axes=F)
axis(2, at=seq(0, 70, 5)) # for the y-axis
axis(1, at=seq(0, 100, 10)) # for the x-axis
As you would also see if you

WebRTC demo phones
Hello,
Can anyone recommend a particular online WebRTC phone for testing with
Asterisk?
We tried:
- JsSIP, but even with the "enable video" checkbox disabled it sends video
options in the INVITE SDP and Asterisk rejects it with "Rejecting secure
video stream without encryption details".
- sipML5, but it won't register, perhaps something to do with not using the

scaling x-axis in hist function
Hi,
I have a query regarding usage of hist (histogram) function in R.
I have a data where the range of the x -axis is from 0.0-1.0. When I use
hist the ticks on the x-axis it gives me by default is at
0.0,0.2,0.4,0.6,0.8 and 1.0.
If I want more ticks such that the x-axis has 0.0,0.1,0.2,0.3...till 1.0
what parameter should I use in the hist function?
Thanks

hist function+label second y-axis

I?d like to craete a line not a bar in the hist function, but regrettably I
get only warning messages:

A question on histogram (hist): coordinates on x-axis are too sparse
Dear R helpers:
Let's say I have some data X,
X <- runif(1000, 1, 10000000000)
pdf('X.pdf', width=100,height=5)
hist(X, breaks=1000)
dev.off()
I find that, on x-axis the coordinates are 0e+00, 2e+09, 4e+09, 6e+09, 8e+09, 1e+10. Only five numbers, which is too sparse in a 100x5 pdf file. I want the x-axis coordinates to become more dense, e.g.
