Troubleshooting underidentification issues in structural equation modelling (SEM)
Hi all, hope someone can help me out with this.
Background Introduction
I have a data set consisting of data collected from a questionnaire that I
wish to validate. I have chosen to use confirmatory factor analysis to
analyse this data set.
Instrument
The instrument consists of 11 subscales. There is a total of 68 items in
the 11 subscales. Each item is scored on an integer scale between 1 to 4.

counting across leves of factors
I have dataframe with 17factors variables (for example every factor have
3levels)
I have maybe 5000 observation.
And i need to do table where is in every raw 1 of possible combination of
this factors and the numbur how many time is this combination in my dataset.
I wrote one code, but this is very slow and dumb.
it looks like this:
i<-0

hierarchical confirmatory factor analysis with sem package
Hi,
I am doing a hierarchical CFA using the sem package. I have 20 items, and I
have 2 factors (F3 and F4), and also F1 and F2 are nested within F3.
Here is the code that I have, but it is giving me an error message "Warning
message:

SF-36 questionnaire scoring for R?
Dear useRs from the physiology department,
Does someone know of an implementation of the SF-36 questionnaire scoring in
R? I only found SAS and STATA versions, e.g

Hi All,
Can someone help me?The way to do this may be very easy but i do not know.

strata() in clogit()
How can I get the log odds associated with the levels in strata()
within a clogit() model? I'm running R-1.9.0 on a Linux platform.
I am using clogit() to run a Rasch model in Item Response Theory in
psychometrics. Symbolically, the model is:
logit(p_{j,k}) = \log({\Pr(p_{j,k}) \over \Pr(1-p_{j,k})}) =
\theta_j - \alpha_k,
That is, the log odds of answering an test item correctly is

lm with a single X and step with several Xi-s, beta coef. quite different:
Hi, (R version 2.15.0)
I am running a pgm with 1 response (earlier standardized Y) and 44
independent vars (Xi) from the same data =a2:
When I run the 'lm' function on single Xi at a time, the beta
coefficient for let's say X1 is = -0.08 (se=0.03256)
But when I run the same Y with 44 Xi-s with the 'step' function (because
I left direction parameter empty, I assume a backward

[LLVMdev] Some small changes to the memory dependence analysis API
Hey folks , I was thinking of making some small, optional-for-callers
only changes to the memdep API, and before I did it, thought i'd post
here and make sure nobody thought it was egregiously stupid.
There are two related issues i'm trying to solve, both of which occur
in uses like GVN, where we are trying to prove equivalence between a
load/store/call with some other load/store/call:

How to generate mean anova value row in anova table, instead of individual value for each predictor
Hi All ,
Can anybody tell me if there's any way to get the summarized anova
values.Now i will explain what i mean , when i say "*summarized*".
Below you can see the anova table of recmeanC1 with rest* all* i.e from
recmeanC2 to i15(predictors),as shown in table.

How to change the order of columns in a data frame?
Dear all,
I have a data frame in which the columns need to be ordered. The first column X is at the right position, but the remaining columns X1-Xn should be ordered like this: X1, X2, X3 etc instead of like below.
> colnames(pos1)
[1] "X" "X1" "X10" "X11" "X12" "X13" "X14" "X15" "X16"

Take the maximum of every 12 columns
Dear all,
I have monthly data in wide format, I am only providing data (at the bottom
of the email) for the first 24 columns but I have 2880 columns in total.
I would like to take max of every 12 columns. I have taken the mean of
every 12 columns with the following code:
byapply <- function(x, by, fun, ...)
{
# Create index list
if (length(by) == 1)
{
nc <- ncol(x)

debug vs regular mode
Dear all,
I had a R segmentation fault, and then invoked debug mode and ran step
by step.
When I reached "terms(Y~X1*X2*...*X16)", I would then have
"segmentation" fault. However, if I just ran this under regular "R
interactive" mode, it would be fine though taking long time.
My questions are:
1. Is there a known limit of terms for a formula?
2. Why does the
