User uidNumber questions
Hi,
Question1: An uidNumber can be given to a new user by "samba-tool user add <

the computation of exact p-value for the nonparametric cor-test with ties
Hello,
I wuold like to propose my modifications of the original cor.test to you : I
tried to calcolate the correct p-value for Spearman and Kendall's test with
ties.
Let me know what you think.
Thanks you for your time.

nls problem
hi list,
used versions: 2.12.1 and 2.14.0 under ubuntu and macosx.
I recently stumbled over a problem with `nls', which occurs if the model
is not specified explicitly but via an evaluation of a 'call' object.
simple example:

cor.test and SuppDists give me different P-values for the same

NAs by integer overflow in Spearman's test p-value (PR#8087)

The p value in Spearman's test is NA if the length of x exceeds 46340, due to
an integer overflow, occurring if length(n) > sqrt(2^31):

(PR#8087) NAs by integer overflow in Spearman's test p-value
There is an even simpler way: someone wrote n*(n^2-1) as n*(n-1)*(n+1)
and caused the problem.
Your superfluous semicolons do definitely make your code harder to read.

i have a problem with processing dataframes within a function using the "$".
HereĀ“s my code:

q<-paste("columna",number,sep="")
# this does not work, particularly because "dataframe" is not processed

Incorrect Kendall's tau for ordered variables (PR#14207)
Full_Name: Marek Ancukiewicz
Version: 2.10.1
OS: Linux
Submission from: (NULL) (74.0.49.2)
Both cor() and cor.test() incorrectly handle ordered variables with
method="kendall", cor() incorrectly handles ordered variables for
method="spearman" (method="person" always works correctly, while
method="spearman" works for cor.test, but not for cor()).

R/S-Plus/SAS yield different results for Kendall-tau and Spearman nonparametric regression
Colleagues,
I ran some nonparametric regressions in R (run in RedHat Linux), then
a colleague repeated the analyses in SAS. When we obtained different
results, I tested S-Plus (same Linux box). And, got yet different
results. I replicated the results with a small dataset:

Trusted pool authentication & traffic encryption
Hi all,
I have some questions concerning Gluster security.
I was thinking about using Gluster for synchronizing data between my laptop and my desktop computer. I realize that this is not the usual use case, but I think it should work. I would create one replica-2 volume with one brick on each PC plus a FUSE mount of that volume on each PC. I would then always write my data to the local FUSE

Tcl/Tk and mouse
Within a loop I tried to draw some things in
dependency on the position of the mouse.
This works fine with R-1.5.1 but R-1.6.1
requires to include some delay by
Sys.sleep(delay) with delay>=0.015.
For smaller values (e.g. 0.0001) the
top level tcltk-window does not appear
and so I am not able to control the elements
to be plotted using the tcltk-widget.
Question1: How can I force
