How to install a package that needs to see oher pkg dependencies:
Hi,
I am trying to install the genetics package on a server with Linux,
Fedora. I installed it in a PC and worked fine.
In a server since I am not used with R, I am not sure what do I need to
change so genetics pkg can see some package dependencies:
Any suggestion is appreciated, Aldi
Note:
genetics expects gregmisc and mvtnorm to be installed already. gregmisc
creates gdata etc dependencies.

any of the menu "Packages" is not working.
Although the regression using lm ( Y ~ X ) is working

problem with 'install.packages'
Hi, All:
Is there a way to identify whether any users are using a
particular package in a shared network R installation?
I ask, because we have such a multiple-user installation and when
I tried to install a package using Rgui that was in use by Rterm on a
single-user installation, 'install.packages' deleted the existing
package but failed to install the new version;

RE: mvtnorm package installation failure
Hi,
Thank you for the tip.
I tried to re-intall R from Debian "stable", in which R's version is 1.4.0. And the installation
of "mvtnorm" works.
I then re-installed R yet again from Debian "unstable" (woody), in which R's version is 1.5.1.
The installation of "mvtnorm" fails again with the same error message. Another package that

Bivariate Normal Distribution Plots
R-Help
I am attempting to create a series of bivariate normal distributions. So using the mvtnorm library I have created the following code ...
# Standard deviations and correlation
sig_x <- 1
sig_y <- 1
rho_xy <- 0.0
# Covariance between X and Y
sig_xy <- rho_xy * sig_x *sig_y
# Covariance matrix
Sigma_xy <- matrix(c(sig_x ^ 2, sig_xy, sig_xy, sig_y ^ 2), nrow = 2, ncol = 2)

we are using library(snow) for computation on a linux cluster with RMPI.

Question on where samples are grouped in rmvnorm{mvtnorm}
Dear All,
For function: rmvnorm{mvtnorm} in (library mvtnorm, not splus2R), if I generate 2 bivariate normal samples as follows:
> rmvnorm(2,mean=rep(0,2),sigma=diag(2))
[,1] [,2]
[1,] 2.0749459 1.4932752
[2,] -0.9886333 0.3832266
Where is the first sample, it is stored in the first row or the first column?
Does this function store samples row-wise or column-wise?
Thank

utils::install.packages with quiet=TRUE fails for source packages on Windows
Hi,
Installing a source package on Windows using utils::install.packages()
with quiet=TRUE fails, while it works with the default quiet = FALSE.
The problem seems to be caused by the fact that when quiet = TRUE,
stdout and stderr are set to FALSE when calling "R CMD INSTALL" with
base::system2() here:
