[WIP PATCH] dri/nouveau: Add S3TC support for nv20.
--- Hi, this is still WIP, but already passes piglit's s3tc-teximage, s3tc-texsubimage and fbo-generatemipmap-formats(s3tc tests) and even Wolfenstein:Enemy-Territory works on my nv25. It's based on Ben's newlib branch. I have few issues though: 1) So far it needs libtxc_dxtn, but I might expose the s3tc extensions even without encoder using driconf option - Is that desirable? 2)

lmer applied to a wellknown (?) example
Dear all, During my pre-R era I tried (yes, tried) to understand mixed models by working through the 'rat example' in Sokal and Rohlfs Biometry (2000) 3ed p 288-292. The same example was later used by Crawley (2002) in his Statistical Computing p 363-373 and I have seen the same data being used elsewhere in the litterature. Because this example is so thoroughly described, I thought

Warning about undocumented data sets
Hi, List, Sorry in advance if this turns out to be a stupid question -- I've been trying to work it out for awhile, and I don't have any new ideas -- I'm very new to R documentation/ LATEX. I am running "R CMD check " on a package that I am trying to write; the only warning is: * checking for missing documentation entries ... WARNING Undocumented data sets: Einter KG All

[PATCH] nouveau: fix glCompressedTexImage
mesa_texstore expects pixel data, not compressed data. For compressed textures, we want to just copy the bits in without any conversion. coxme for random effects only model
Dear all, I have encountered the following problem where coxme seems to allow model with only random effect in R 2.11.1 but not in R 2.13.0. Following is the error message using rat example data. Any comment on this is appreciated. In R2.13 > library(coxme) > rat1 <- coxme(Surv(time, status) ~ rx + (1|litter), rats) > rat0 <- coxme(Surv(time, status) ~ (1|litter), rats)

sampling from a mixture distribution
Dear R users, I would like to sample from a mixture distribution p1*f(x1)+p2*f(x2). I usually sample variates from both distributions and weight them with their respective probabilities, but someone told me that was wrong. What is the correct way? Vumani

No Data in randomForest predict
I would like to ask a general question about the randomForest predict function and how it handles No Data values. I understand that you can omit No Data values while developing the randomForest object, but how does it handle No Data in the prediction phase? I would like the output to be NA if any (not just all) of the input data have an NA value. It is not clear to me if this is the default or

How do I make R randomForest model size smaller?
I've been training randomForest models on 7 million rows of data (41 features). Here's an example call: myModel <- randomForest(RESPONSE~., data=mydata, ntree=50, maxnodes=30) I thought surely with only 50 trees and 30 terminal nodes that the memory footprint of "myModel" would be small. But it's 65 megs in a dump file. The object seems to be holding all sorts of

Directshow filters 0.64.7878
Updated again... theora works and seeks properly (not to keyframe) in WMP 9 and 10. You can encode from a bunch of onew input types like RGB32, RGB24, IYUV etc. And fixed a bug that was stopping the filters being used in a activeX control in an IE browser. www.illiminable.com/ogg/ Enjoy, Zen.

text at the upper left corner outside of the plot region
Hi, is there a way to place text at the upper left corner (or another corner) of the plot? I want to place it really at the upper left corner of the whole plot (the file I get), not at the upper left corner of the plot-region. I tried text() and mtext(), and corner.label() of the plotrix package but it didn't work out. thanks!

Framebuffer double buffering (via FBIOPAN_DISPLAY)
Well...it's been a bit of a mixed bag.? Setting drm_kms_helper.drm_fbdev_overalloc=200 set the vinfo.yres_virtual to 2160 as opposed to 1080 (My monitor vertical resolution)? This fixed the mmap() problem.? However, it only worked on my main workstation.? My laptop running Intel graphics wasn't affected by the change in kernel cmdline.? My workstation is a custom build from a few

Random Forest Reading N/A's, I don't see them
After checking the original data in Excel for blanks and running Summary(cm3) to identify any null values in my data, I'm unable to identify an instances. Yet when I attempted to use the data in Random Forest, I get the following error. Is there something that Random Forest is reading as null which is not actually null? Is there a better way to check for this? > library(randomForest) >

sampsize in Random Forests
Hi all, I have a dataset where each point is assigned to a class A, B, C, or D. Each point is also assigned to a study site. Each study site is coded with a number ranging between 1-100. This information is stored in the vector studySites. I want to run randomForests using stratified sampling, so I chose the option strata = factor(studySites) But I am not sure how to control the number of

format.pval () and printCoefmat ()
Hi List, My goal is to force R not to print in scientific notation in the sixth column (rel_diff - for the p-value) of my data frame (not a matrix). I have used the format.pval () and printCoefmat () functions on the data frame. The R script is appended below. This issue is that use of the format.pval () and printCoefmat () functions on the data frame gives me the desired results, but coerces

use "caret" to rank predictors by random forest model
Hi, I'm using package "caret" to rank predictors using random forest model and draw predictors importance plot. I used below commands: rf.fit<-randomForest(x,y,ntree=500,importance=TRUE) ## "x" is matrix whose columns are predictors, "y" is a binary resonse vector ## Then I got the ranked predictors by ranking
