Enlarge ext3 Logical Volume (Filesystem) in a volume group (LVM)
Anybody know a way to enlarge a filesystem ext3 without having to unmounted it, when they are still space left in the volume group (when using LVM) ?
I will be running large production linux system running Oracle.
I can't stop the database everytime I have to enlarge a filesystem.
We can do it with all others filesystems (JFS, REISERSFS and XFS) when they are created in a volume group. Why

large fonts on plots
Hi all,
I need to enlarge te fonts used oo R-plots (plots, histograms, ...) in
labels and titles etc.
I seem to be unable to figure out how to do it. The problem is that the
titles of the plots are simply unreadable when I insert them into my LaTeX
text, since they are relatively small compared to the entire plot.
I am sure it is pretty simple, can anybody give me a hint ?

[PATCH] drm/nouveau: enlarge GART aperture
This patch enlarges the PCI GART aperture to 512 MB.
The current 64MB aperture is too small and should be enlarged.
The optimal amound may be card/system-dependent, so a more sophisticated
approach may be preferable.
In particular, if RAMIN is less than 1MB, a 512MB aperture won't fit.

bpf compilation using clang
Hi all,
I am trying to insert instructions into the bpf using the bpf syscall,
the instructions were generated using the following command line:
clang -I ~/Builds/bpf_rss/iproute2/include -Wall -target bpf -O2
-emit-llvm -c upstream/qemu/hw/net/rss_tap_bpf_program.c -o - | llc
-march=bpf -filetype=obj -o tap_bpf_program.o
and then were translated to bpf instructions using the BPFCparser tool

[PATCH] drm/nouveau: enlarge GART aperture (v2)
Changes in v2:
- Compute size based on ramin_rsvd_size
This patch enlarges the PCI GART aperture to 512 MB, or the space
covered by a DMA object filling half RAMIN.
The current 64MB aperture is too small and should be enlarged.
The optimal amound may be card/system-dependent, so a more sophisticated
approach may be preferable.
Could anyone with an nv04 test whether this doesn't break there?

enlarging partition and its filesystem
Hi all!
I've got a VM at work running C6 on HyperV (no, its not my fault,
that's what the company uses. I'd rather gag myself than own one
of th ose things.)
I ran out of disk space in the VM, so the admin enlarged the virtual disk.
but now I realize I don't know how to enlarge the partition and its
filesystem.
I'll be googling, but in case I miss it, it'd be great if

Centosplus & CentOS Extras, Enlarge your tent
I think Jim (the other one) is doing a marvellous job with extras and
plus but he needs to expand the size of his tent. A sensible package
policy in extras/plus repo will mean fewer temptations to install 3rd
party repo's that can break your system. Some of the packages i
would like to see are :-
- MySQL 5 rpms
- php 5 rpms (already provided)
- Open Office 2.0 rpms
- webmin
- rkhunter

Problem with mle in stats4 (R 1.9.1)
Hi!
This is a repost of an earlier message (with a clearer example
demonstrating the problem I ran into). If you run the mle example in

-sum(stats::dpois(y, lambda=ymax/(1+x/xhalf), log=TRUE))

getting started, reading listing and saving data
Dear List
I am new to R and to the list and will try best as I can be clear and
concise. My apologies if anything I write contravenes the posting code
on this list. I would also like to say I have run through most of the
material on the R website before writing this email however, I am
stuck.
Here is what I want to do and what I have done

Large subjects increase memory-usage and enlarge index-files
Several times we already had the problems, that accounts with more the
1.3 or 1.7 billion e-mails in one folder run out-of-memory, even if
vsize_limit of 750 MB is set.
In this case, the lmtpd-process haven't been able to allocate more
memory to read/write/update the index-files and crashed (and the
index-files become corrupted at the end.)

Graphics on MacOSX
Ist there a possibility on MacOSX to import Graphics into MSOffice
Applications and resize them there without decreased quality? When I import
via copy&paste I get low quality bitmaps and via import pictures (pdf) it is
all the same. In the Windows versions of R there is the convienient way to
use metafile format which can easily be resized in ppt and word. What is the

sizing and saving graphics in R
Dear R wizards,
I am seeking advice on graphics in R. Specifically, how to manipulate
the size and save a plot I have produced using the LDheatmap library.
I confess I am relatively new to graphics in R, but I would greatly
appreciate any suggestions you may have.
LDheatmap produces a coloured triangular matrix of pairwise
associations between 600 genetic markers in my dataset.

change legend character size in image.plot
I'm using the image.plot() function (fields package), but I want to enlarge
the characters of the legend (as they are too small to be read in a combined
figure), but there is no way I can find a command to do this. I can enlarge
the legend bar (with legend.witdh), axis character size (cex.axis) or the
total legend size (legend.shrink), but not the character size of the legend
