i2 vs. instiki-ar
Just wondering if anyone can tell me the differences between i2 and
instiki-ar? Is one preferred over the other? Also, instiki-ar has
support for file uploads but it doesn''t look like i2 does. Is there
any plan to add that support?
Any insights would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Mongrel 0.3.6 -- Win32 Service/Rails Real Good
Hello Folks,
This release of Mongrel should make the win32 folks go crazy. Thanks to
Luis Lavena it supports a full service system for installing any Rails app
as a service. This lets you start your rails apps from either the command
line or the Service console. Stopping is still a bit problematic but we
hope to have that solved in the next release.
You win32 folks should probably send Luis

rails based wiki: is instiki still being developed?
hello,
is the instiki project still being developed? it seems the web site is
down for a couple of weeks now, and almost no activity is going on on
the developer mailing list.
on a related note, are you aware of other actively developed rails-based wikis?
many thanks in advance.

Need feedback on Instiki-AR beta
Hi all,
Following the recent release of Instiki-AR beta, I haven''t had a lot of bug reports or other feedback.
This could mean one of the two things. Either nobody is using it, or some people are, and have no problems at all.
One thing for sure is that it''s certainly getting downloaded (20 times a day, as it were)!
I''d like to know which way is it.
So, if you are

Regexten
Before I play around with this again in 1.2.1, regexten is still essentially broken, correct?
The misconception seems to be that it allows you to execute a command upon registration from a SIP UA. Even the O'Reilly TFOT book erroneously states that this is what it is for. After reading the developer discussion though, it definitely seems to be broken. Is it fixed yet?

Instiki 0.11.0 - ActiveRecord Forever
Dear all,
If you thought Instiki was a dead project, you were right. Since I''ve got a day job that doesn''t suck
(Official Ruby Zealot of ThoughtWorks Canada), my motivation to do open source greatly sufferred :)
But... but... but! Here is Instiki 0.11.0, and in this version Instiki is (finally!) moving to ActiveRecord backend
and (finally!) has the File Upload feature.

some notes about rails, apache, fastcgi and windows
hello.
i''d like to share some feelings of mine after a couple of *weeks*
intermittent attempts to have rails applications working on windows
(XP) with fastcgi performances under apache (2.0).
i''d say the software stack i''m using now will be fairly common as more
and more new rails developers will join the bandwagon.
what is stunning me is the fact that, even if

malloc(0) returns 0x800 on FreeBSD 6.2 ?
i was debugging a program on FreeBSD 6, and much to my
surprise, i noticed that malloc(0) returns 0x800, as shown
by this program:
> more a.c
#include <stdio.h>
int main(int argc, char *argv[])
{
char *p = malloc(0);
printf(" malloc 0 returns %p\n", p);
}
> cc -o a a.c
> ./a
malloc 0 returns 0x800
if you look at the source this is indeed clear - internally

fdisk on mounted disks ?
the other day i was trying to create a new freebsd slice on the
same disk i booted from (on a freshly updated RELENG_6) and both
fdisk and sysinstall failed with some error (i think they could not
write on the disk, or something similar).
boot -s did not seem to help, either.
I remember vaguely some time ago a bit of discussion
on this topic, but cannot recall the outcome nor any

Aiuto
Salve a tutti;

+ camping/session
Camping now comes with a sessioning class, checked in tonight.
To get sessions working for your application:
1. require ''camping/session''
2. include Camping::Session in your application''s toplevel module.
3. In your application''s create method, add a call to
Camping::Models::Schema.create_schema
4. Throughout your application, use the @state

cisco ATA186 I2 vs I1
Hi,
I saw your posting about the cisco ata186 I2 vs I1 and the simple vs complex impedance.
I ordered a cisco ata186 i2 for use in Canada by mistake, didn't know that I needed the I1
version.
Will the I2 version work in Canada with regular anlog phones, or will I need to change it.
Thanks for your answer.

Equal bandwidth configuration among host with dummynet
Hi all,
First of all, I have spent a lot of time reading up on
it.
Anyway, I live in a shared accomodation with 2
roommates and a landlord and we share a cable internet
connection. It is 2Mbit/400Kbit connection. Sometimes
when one of us is downloading a song through Kazaa or
a new Linux or FreeBSD iso, the bandwidth gets hogged
and other users can't get through.
I was trying to configure

eeebox and FreeBSD notes
for what it is worth, i have put some notes on using
FreeBSD on the EEE Box.
http://info.iet.unipi.it/~luigi/FreeBSD/eeebox.html
Most things work, the one big remaining issue is
configuring X11 so that it recognises non standard resolutions
e.g. 1680x1050 or similar using the "intel" driver.
feedback welcome
cheers
