How to change SID in ntuser.dat?
Hello, i try to migrate user/groups from NT4 PDC to Samba3 with LDAP backend. There is already an NIS-Server with Samba runing, so there exists two userlists. I migrated the user/ groups from windows via net rpc vampire and added/changed the UID?s from the NIS-Server but didn?t change the SID. A teammate told me, there could be some access problems, if i don?t change the SID. So i tried to change

Samba <> Internet file share
Hi All. If I were to enable samba on the internet facing side of my system, what security issues would I face. Does the list think that it is a bad idea and security will be badly compramised? What other methiods of file sharing over the internet should I look at, given that all the users are not really robust... a

Register Dataflow Analysis on X86
Do you know whether it has been fixed on the 8.0.1 release? Register Dataflow Analysis on X86
Hi Scott, That #1073741833 is a register mask. They are treated as aggregate registers (essentially sets of registers), so if it includes R9D and R11D, it will be treated as being aliased with both. These separate defs are there because they reach disjoint registers. -- Krzysztof Parzyszek kparzysz at quicinc.com<mailto:kparzysz at quicinc.com> AI tools development From: Scott

Register Dataflow Analysis on X86
Hi Scott, Sorry for the late reply, I was out of office during the holidays. 1. A def node can reach either a use node, or another def node. In the highlighted phi node (p3224), the def (d3225) reaches another def (1598) in statement (s1597), that’s why it’s needed. 2. The reason why the def of R11 in s1578 is not connected directly to the use in s1725 is that there may be an intervening

I see that this was the right place to fire off this question. Thanks for your feedback. It has given me a base to start some trials. I used to use EAC on Windows, but I tend to only use open source software as much as possible and I don't use Windows any more. I gave a brief look at abcde, but it is clear I need to look at this some more. It looks like it has the potential to do everything I

what''s wrong with engines
sorry to flog a dead horse - but just read through: http://weblog.rubyonrails.com/articles/2005/11/11/why-engines-and-components-are-not-evil-but-distracting I both disagree and agree with that post. The following both seem like good ideas to me: 1. Keep rails core simple 2. Allow 3rd parties to add functionality through plugins I want a simple auth/login system. And I don''t want to
