Remove duplicate elements in lists via recursive indexing
Dear list,
I'm trying to solve something pretty basic here, but I can't really come
up with a good solution. Basically, I would just like to remove
duplicated named elements in lists via a their respective recursive
indexes (given that I have a routine that identifies these recursive
indexes). Here's a little example:

DICompileUnit duplication in LLVM 4.0.0?
All,
I'm seeing duplication of DICompileUnits in a pass that worked in 3.8. I
assume I'm doing something wrong. Would someone be willing to point me in
the right direction?
The below minimized pass reproduces my issue in 4.0 with the following
error:

column names in data.frame
Dear R-help,
Please can someone explain how to put a column name on an output data.frame.
##Starting with a data.frame with 3 columns (d$Year, d$NoIndiv, d$wtd_tl)
yr_ind <- split (d$NoIndiv, d$Year)
yr_tl <- split (d$wtd_tl, d$Year)
ann_ind <- sapply (yr_ind, sum)
ann_tl <- sapply (yr_tl, sum)
av_tl <- ann_tl/ann_ind
d2<- data.frame (av_tl)

DICompileUnit duplication in LLVM 4.0.0?
Thank you. What I need to do to address this? Open an issue on bugs.llvm.org?
I'm not sure what the fix needs to be in the cloner.

us zipcode data map
i've search the email archives, searched the documention
of various map packages and done an R-site search, but
have been unable to find direct resources for creating maps
of the US that are colored or annotated or ... by zipcode
data.
For example, create a map of the US and color each zipcode
region by its population using two vectors z,p containing the
zipcode and population,

Example of cell means model
This is an example from chapter 11 of the 6th edition of Devore's
engineering statistics text. It happens to be a balanced data set in
two factors but the calculations will also work for unbalanced data.
I create a factor called 'cell' from the text representation of the
Variety level and the Density level using '/' as the separator
character. The coefficients for the linear

Code density functions
Hello
I would like to see the algorithm that R uses to generate density functions
for several distributions (i.e. Normal,Weibull, etc). I tried:
>dnorm
function (x, mean = 0, sd = 1, log = FALSE)
.Internal(dnorm(x, mean, sd, log))
<environment: namespace:stats>
How can I see the code used for densities?
Thanks!

Obtaining argument name within a function
Dear all
How can I obtain the name of the argument passed in a function? Here is a
simplistic example of what I would like to obtain:
myfunction= function(name) {
print(paste("The parameter name was",unknownFunction(name))
}
myfunction(myobject)
[1] "The parameter name was myobject"
Thanks

read.frame
Hello group,
I am learning R and I am new to many concepts.I face
the following errors when I am trying to execute the
following. I have 4 text files with protein accession
numbers. I wanted to represent them in a venn diagram
and for that I using intersect and setdiff functions.
My data looks like this:
file1.txt (c):
NP_000005
NP_000020
NP_000030
NP_000053
file2.txt(e):

defining and plotting functions thanks to equation
Hi R lovers!
Are there any means to define and plot a function given the equation that
specifies the function?
For example I'd like to plot and work with the Gumbel Distribution density
defined by
Lambda(x)=exp(-exp(-x))
My question may appear very simple but I haven't got an idea yet about how
to do that. I could plot something with x a vector/set of value but I don't
know how to

calculations on diagonals of a matrix
Given an nxm matrix A I want to compute the nxm matrix B whose ij-th
element is the sum of the elements of A lying on the diagonal that ends
with element ij, i.e.,
b_ij = a_ij + a_(i-1)(j-1) + a_(i-2)(j-2) + ...
In APL (which I no longer use), I would use the 'rotate' operator to derive
an array whose columns are diagonals of the given array and then cumulate
down columns. Is

Fit Frechet Distribution
Hi everyone,
is there a function to fit a frechet distribution? The only thing I
found is gev.fit from ismev which fits a generalized extreme value
distribution (if shape>1 => Frechet) . Is there a function to only fit
a frechet?
Thank you
