Requested consideration: true, true, true in SearchObject.html
I've just posted an email to R-help with instructions on creating a
Firefox keyword search of the R documentation:
https://www.stat.math.ethz.ch/pipermail/r-help/2004-November/059272.html
The method involves bookmarking the
RHOME/doc/html/search/SearchObject.html file. Currently this page is set
up to only search help page titles:
line = line + document.SearchEngine.search

Firefox keyword searches for R & S-Plus
If you've 'rediscovered the web' with Firefox (http://getfirefox.com), you
might find this tip handy. Suppose you want to search the (local) R
documentation for information about the lme function. Wouldn't it be nice
to just type into the browser address bar:
r lme
and have the search performed? Here's how (on Windows):

Bug#123084: r-base: R documentatio search engine unusable with Mozilla 6 (OK with netscape 4.7x) (PR#1202)
As there is nothing Debian-specific in this bug report (and the .deb of the
JVW is not from Debian either), I am forwarding this to R-bugs. My
recollection from recent discussions on the R mailing list is that currently
/no/ browser other than Netscape supports the Java search engine -- is that
correct or was there some Netscape derivative (galeon?) which does?
Maybe the documentation should be

Problems with html help system: help.start()
I am having problems installing R under Fedora Core 3. I installed R
using YUM
yum -install R.
The basic installation appears to have worked, I can start and run R.
When I try to start the HTML help system, I get the errors listed
below.
Any help solving my problem would be appreciated.
Thanks

a JavaScript front-end for Babelmark
Hi,
I've built a quick-and-dirty diff GUI for Babelmark (thanks,
Michel!). You can get it as a bookmarklet here:
http://attacklab.net/babelmark/
If either Michel or Tom is interested in hosting this, I'll be happy
to do the grunt work for a real integration. It's kind of pain in the
ass to hit the bookmarklet every time you get new data from the server.
I've tested this

Error compiling ROracle on Windows 2000
Hello,
I am trying to compile ROracle _0.5-4 under R 1.9.0 without much success. I am running Windows 2000 SP4, Visual C++ 6.0 SP6, and Oracle client 9.2.0.1.0. I was able to run the pre-compiled version of ROracle_0.5-2 under R 1.7.1, but does not work on R 1.8.1 or R 1.9.0. Here is the output from nmake:

[PATCH] Enables users to migrate virtual machines between hosts.
Users select a virtual machine on their current libvirt host. They then
select a target machine, which must have been previously configured as a
connection. They confirm the migration and then it runs.

slave only config files
Hi.
I'm configuring nut from freebsd ports.
For a machine that only is a slave, you only need to run
uspmon. Is there a configuration entry for ups.conf or
upsd.conf that is minimal and sufficient to have the
upsdrvctl and upsd processes digest the config files
happily (and exit)? Right now on my slave I receive
upsd[451]: Warning: no UPS definitions in ups.conf

About dll from c++ routine
Hi folks,
My system is Windows98 + R1.9.0.
The path for my system is c:\perl\bin; c:\mingw\bin; c:\rtools;
c:\windows; c:\windows\command; c:\rw1090\bin.
I created three files followed the examples in “Writing R extensions” in
the directory c:\temp:

class X {
public: X (); ~X ();
};
class Y {
public: Y (); ~Y ();
};
// X.cc

PR#1132.
Just now I again had occasion to want nested describe lists in a
documentation file. I found that the bug which I reported on 18
October, 2001 still persists. I checked on the bug report at the R
web page, and found that the notes say ``Not a problem in R 1.4.0
(2001-12-08)''.
Well, it's still a problem for me --- using R 1.4.1.
