Key titles in Lattice
Hi, I'm creating some lattice plots that have a key and I'd like to put a label on the key. The problem is that the text label for the key prevents the values of the group variables from being shown (see example below). I don't think that this is a feature, but I might be abusing the title arg for key. I'm using R Version 2.3.0 (2006-04-24) on Windows XP and lattice V0.13-8

dynamically add items to key of lattice xyplot
Hi all, is it possible to dynamically add key items to an already existing key, belonging to a lattice xyplot? This is what I do: I make an xyplot with an initial key. Later on, I want to extend this key with more items, as more lines are added to the plot (lines are added using trellis.focus("panel")). specifying a key for a trellis display
Folks: The "key" argument of trellis commands (e.g. xyplot()) allows one to place a key at the top of a trellis display using key=list(space='top',...) I would like to increase the space between the bottom of the key and the trellis plots beyond the default. Is there a simple way to do this? positioning of color key in levelplot
Is there a way of positioning the color key in levelplot when the axes are on a categorical (rather than numerical) scale? I've put some sample code below. I need to add a secondary y axis to the right side of my plot but then the labels interfere with the color key (which is currently on the right side). Further png() question
Ok, I have reinstalled R-1.9.0 and this appears to have fixed the problems I was having with png(). However, I have a further question regarding png() Is it possible to pass a par() argument to the png() command? Hi, I want to do the following: 1) create a trellis plot with 1 x 1 layout 2) add a key in the upper right hand corner of the plotting region (i.e., the panel), but after the initial call to trellis 3) resize the resulting device graphics device without changing the relative position of the key For instance, the code below draws the key relative to the device window--not the plotting area.

Reconstructing Datasets

slightly off-topic re prcomp()
Hi, I was wondering if anyone could tell me why prcomp() will "Invent" modes of variation in a PCA on identical replicates of data? I would have expected 50 (or whatever number) of identical replicates to return a null score in such an analysis (or at the least, all variables would share the same PC score). This is not the case and I was wondering could someone point me in the direction

Runnning R remotely
Hi, I was wondering if anyone might be able to help. line width (all elements) in Trellis
Dear All, I am hoping to implement a barchart using trellis graphics where all elements have a line width of 2. Using trellis.par.set(), I am able to make most elements lwd=2, but not all. adjusting color palette
Is there a way to increase the "sensitivity" of the color palette in order to more clearly represent certain sections of data?
