Aggregate Table Data into Cell Frequencies
R-help - I have this set of aggregated tables (sample data below via dput()). And I would like to have delayValue as the column variables with the "temp" (temp1, temp2, temp3) values as the row variables. However I would like to have the temp variables *aggregated into single rows* so that I have the frequency ("Freq" | counts) of each time each "delayValue" occurs

adding variable into dataframe by indice
R-Helpers, I am trying to insert a value into a dataframe. This value is a proportion calculated by counting the number of those individuals with that value and then inserting the proportion at the end of the dataframe to only those individuals with the given value. The problem I am running into is that the proportions are not being attached to only those individuals with the specified value

Zoo object problem: Find the column name of a univariate zoo object
Hi everyone and Achim, Achim, I appreciate your help about the function "NCOL". When I use "NCOL" instead of "ncol", I can find out the number of columns (number of time series) in the presence of only one time series (one variable, one column). Now I want to know how I can find out the column names of the zoo objects? In case of more than one time series, the

Zoo object problem: problem when I attempt to create a zoo object of only one column
Hi, Part of my program is to calculate the number of time series in a zoo object. It works well if it has more than one time series, but it fails if it has only one. How can I access the number of column (i.e. the number of time series) when I have only one column? Why is the number of an object of only one object "NULL"? It should be one, shouldn't it? (The following example

Subtracting number of days from a date
Hi group, suppose I have a date, say May 15 2004, and I want to now what date it is 23 days before that date. The way to calculate the new date should (...) take account of leap years :) In pseudocode: olddate <- "May 15 2004" newdate <- olddate-23 I looked around in POSIXct etc..., maybe I overlooked? Thanks, Maarten

Available in S-plus, also in R1.8.1?
Hello all, I'm looking for the R-equivalent of the S-option "Connect type: half horiz first". Link: http://miner.stern.nyu.edu/Splus/help/guihelp/__hhelp/connect_type.htm I'm plotting with type="s" or type="S"; this is giving me a stairstep starting, or ending with the value on the x-axis (as documented). But, I want the x-value in the middle of the step,

permissions not transferred using robocopy, xxcopy, net share migrate shares
Hello: I've been working for a few days on getting a FreeBSD 5.3 server up and running as a samba data backup server. My goal is to schedule periodic backups of our file server. After reading recommendations (e.g. by Mr. Terpstra) I've focused my attempts aroung robocopy, xxcopy, net rpc share migrate shares. However, I'm running into stumbling blocks that seem to involve a problem

Thanks for the input Blair Zajac and Chris (Nolan and Hall), and for others. If all of you have time, please follow this (the question still relates to the previous posts by me): I have provided full steps to reproduce the symptoms. If it matters, I''m running Ruby 1.8.2, Rails 1.0, and MySQL 5.0.15 on Windows XP Professional. 1. First, the setup MySQL ----- create database testdb;

Non-ActiveRecord based model being passed as string?
I have a model that looks like this (with various other methods) class HsdPair attr_accessor :hsd def initialize(hsd) @hsd = hsd @current_display = 0 @has_changed_flag = false end end After initializing this object in the controller @hsd_pairs = HsdPair.new(@job.hsd_pairs) using it in the view various times and in various ways, when I try to pass this object back to the

Whats the best way to do this?
I have an archive that can have 0 or more extra files associated with it. I would like to be able to edit the associated files info on the same page as the archive info. Listing the extra files info to the edit form is simple enough, but How do I form the text input fields for easy (or automatic) pick-up in the update? Or am I barking up the wrong tree here? -- Posted via

STI and unit testing
Hi all, I''m having a bit of a problem with unit testing. I''ve simplified my models to try and get my head round it but I''m still struggling. I''m using STI and trying to write tests for the extended models (code below). I''ve written test cases for the extended models which themselves extend the test case for the parent model, so BarTest extends

Reporting for Asterisk Call Center
Dear Tariq; About elastix.org, this can be use with Asterisk or it is coming as a complete IP Telephony, Call Center, IVR and Reporting? Because, I do not need to install another IP Telephony on the server which already has asterisk which is an IP Telephony, this will cause a problem in the service (for example, when listening for SIP port of 5060).

[AR] #{id} namespace visibility used in finder_sql
Dears, [Rails 1.0.0] I''m working with a legacy schema, and around my 20+ models i''ve used some AR constructs. They are based on a finder_sql doing some dirty sql and using #{id} from the ''pivot'' model for extracting data in other tables. like : class Division < ActiveRecord::Base set_table_name "legacy_division" set_primary_key

Repost - Do dynamic finders work with legacy schemas?
Hello everyone, I have another question related to a legacy schema I am working with. Do dynamic finders work with legacy schemas in general? The schema I am working with uses hungarian prefixes for column names. For example fOpen is 0 if a bug is closed and 1 if it is open (type smallint). When I try @bugs = Bug.find_all_by_fOpen(1), I get the following exception: undefined method

Newbie: HABTM problems
I''m new to RoR and trying to make a HABTM relationship work. I have no problems with displaying the fields (after I pumped the data into MySQL manually outside of RoR), but when I try to edit a record, it =does= save the changes in the primary record, but =not= the join table. When I look in the development log, I see the update to the main table, but nothing about the join
