CI from svyquantile in survey package
I am having trouble understanding (i.e. getting) confidence intervals from the survey package. I am using R version 2.8.1 (2008-12-22) and survey package (3.11-2) on FC7 linux. To simplify my question I use an example from that package: R> data(api) R> dclus1<-svydesign(id=~dnum, weights=~pw, data=apiclus1, fpc=~fpc) R> (tst <- svyby(~api99, ~stype,

cannot use simple=TRUE in boot
I am doing boot with a large database, thus want to use?simple=TRUE to reduce the memory used. I alreday set up sim="ordinary", stype="i" , but I don't know how to set "n=0". In fact, I don't know what does "n=0" mean? For example, a<-c(1:1000) b<-c(2:1001) c<-cbind(a,b) library(boot) table<-function(c,indices){ d<-c[indices,]

boot.ci error with large data sets
Dear List I have run into some problems with boot.ci from package boot. When I try to obtain a confidence interval of type bca, boot.ci() returns the following error when the data set i large: Error in bca.ci(boot.out, conf, index[1L], L = L, t = t.o, t0 = t0.o, : estimated adjustment 'a' is NA Below is an example that produces the above mentioned error on my machine. library(boot)

[LLVMdev] [patch] Union Types - work in progress
OK here's a new version of the patch - and the unions.ll test actually passes :) On Mon, Jan 18, 2010 at 1:40 PM, Chris Lattner <clattner at apple.com> wrote: > > On Jan 16, 2010, at 11:15 AM, Talin wrote: > > OK here's the patch for real this time :) >> >> On Fri, Jan 15, 2010 at 4:36 PM, Talin <viridia at gmail.com> wrote: >> Here's a work

[LLVMdev] [patch] Union Types - work in progress
I've made all the suggested changes - however, I'm having a bit of problem running the tests. I started "make check" and several hours later it had only made it through about 1/3 of the tests. I'm not sure what the deal is. On Mon, Jan 18, 2010 at 1:40 PM, Chris Lattner <clattner at apple.com> wrote: > > On Jan 16, 2010, at 11:15 AM, Talin wrote: > > OK

Hi, I have problem with saving and later sourcing boot objects. A short familiar example... bootstrap means by strata
All - I have an uneven set of replicates and would like to sample from this set X number of times to generate a mean for each grouping variable. I was thinking the boot package would be the thing to use, but now I'm not so sure ... given the discussion here: http://finzi.psych.upenn.edu/Rhelp10/2010-June/243828.html Given these data (a small subset): > dput(x) structure(list(numSpp

X86_64 "assert" when booting 64-bit image.
I can boot a 64-bit HVM image on my SVM-system, and it goes quite a long way before it crashes (due to not finding the hard-disk image and thus no root FS - which I think may well be the configuration file). But if I set debug=y in the Rules.mk, I don''t get very far at all - it crashes well before it gets to any user-mode (Ring3) - in fact, I think it''s crashing pretty much as
