Adding text (coefts) to pairs panels
Hi, First of all, thanks for the efforts of all the developers and contributors - I'm very new to R and at the moment am just using it to create some graphics, but it seems to be quite powerful. I've googled the archives and wasn't able to find anyhting that dealt with this problem, so would appreciate any suggestions/tips. In a pairs plot I'd like to plot a linear regression line

Changing ComputerModern in postscript(...): A first attempt at contributing....
Hi First off, thanks to all the various R developers, your package is very impressive. I'm not sure what the protocols are for contributing, and I've not done this before, so please excuse nay obvious errors or oversights... Also I'm by no means an R,TeX/LaTeX, or typesetting expert, I have largely stumbled my way to this point. Objective: I'd like to get R postscript(...) to

RMySQL's column limit
Dear R-users, First, thank you to the developers for the very useful R-library RMySQL. While using this library a recieved an error message: RS-DBI driver: (could not run statement: Too many columns) The statement that generated the error was: dbWriteTable(dbcon, "simdataseries", template, overwrite = TRUE, row.names = FALSE ) I am assuming this is a RMySQL rather than MySQL limit.

error() and C++ destructors
Hi, I am writing C++ functions that are to be called via .Call() interface. I'd been using error() (from R.h) to return to R if there is an error, but then I realized that this might be not safe as supposedly error() doesn't throw an exception and therefore some destructors do not get called and some memory may leak. Here is a simple example extern "C" void foo() { string

How to write efficient R code
I have been lurking in this list a while and searching in the archives to find out how one learns to write fast R code. One solution seems to be to write part of the code not in R but in C. However after finding a benchmark article (http://www.sciviews.org/other/benchmark.htm) I have been more interested in making the R code itself more efficient. I would like to find more info about this. I have

The ttest.c example in R under MS Windows
We are trying to compile and run the ttest.c example that comes with R (in C:\Program Files\R\rw1081\src\library\windlgs\src\ttest.c). After compiling it with MS Visual C++ we load the DLL with dyn.load. So far it seems good, but when we try to call it from R (after running C:\Program Files\R\rw1081\src\library\windlgs\R\windlgs.R) R crashes. We have tried changing the exports from DLL but have

Help, my RGui is speaking French!
Dear R-helpers, First of all I have nothing against the French language! But now my problem, yesterday I installed R 2.1.1 and I had to experience that my RGui is speaking French. My windows locals is French (Switzerland). I'm used to English and I want to reset my RGui to English. I was seeking for the solution in the archives, however not successfully. By the way the searchable archives

Searchable Archives of this list
Is there a searchable archive of this list? Did I overlook something obvious? I can find the archives, but short of downloading all the monthly gzips and building my own searchable database, it seems my only other option is to go month by month looking at subjects and hope to stumble on what I'm after. Does anyone maintain a public searchable version of the archives? I've got

(no subject)
Hi Marc, Thanks for the response. Apologies for the lack of detail... I have used 'boxwex', 'at' and ylim, to place things nicely, except I know have some spare room at the end of the plot, which I would like to get rid of.... Your suggestion to use 'add' per the example is one I had not thought of. Does any one know of a simpler approach, to use add I'm need to

Ang: How to write efficient R code
Hej Lennart, I would like to add one thing: Often, there already exists an R function that solves the problem at hand. Instead of writing your own function, search the help files [apropos(), help.search()]. What I some times find difficult though, is guessing what key words will produce relevant search hits... describe scope
Hi, Googling ''RSpec describe scope'' didn''t yield much, so apologies if this question has been dealt with. It seem well known that a ruby class is ''visible'' between describes, and if this is a problem then you should use some counter as prefix or suffix: ''class Item_001; ... end'' Is there any work underway, or sheduled release where

Searchable Archives?
Hi guys, I am new to Asterisk. It looks great, but I have a couple of open questions such as - What softphones are recommended and provide Call Center level functionality? - What hardware (especially E1 (Euro S2M) class) are supported? I would like to search the list archives, but can't find a searchable archive. Can someone please point me into the right direction? Thanks. Regards,

Searchable archives of Markdown discussion list still available?
I was interested in going back to research past discussions on the list about possibilities for a syntax to add a class="foo" to div's and/or span's to Markdown text, but didn't have much luck. IIRC, the list never had a searchable web interface, but older posts were available on a Google search. This seems not to be the case any more. Can anyone recommend a good

Searchable Archives?
I'm going to post a question to the group that I'm sure has been answered before, but all the googling in the world isn't helping me. Is there a searchable archive of this mailing list somewhere?

Browsable/searchable mailing list archives
Hi, Is there an easily browsable and searchable archive for cfe-dev? I often find myself wanting to link to a particular email, and it’s a very time consuming process with a pipermail interface. I’ve noticed that llvm-dev is reposted to a google group (https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/llvm-dev <https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/llvm-dev>) which can be super convenient for that

Searchable List Archives?
I'd like to be able to search the list archives when I'm reading someone's message to put what they say in context based on what they've said, and what others have said in conversation with them, in the past. It would help me figure out whether to trust some submitters on some issues, and just learn more from the community's collective/cumulative research and discussion. Is
