Setting up Xemacs + Sweave
Dear list,
I have tried to setup my Xemacs for use with Sweave, which I indend to learn.
I have followed the instructions in the Sweave FAQ, that is to say, I put
(defun Rnw-mode ()
(require 'ess-noweb)
(noweb-mode)
(if (fboundp 'R-mode)
(setq noweb-default-code-mode 'R-mode)))
(add-to-list 'auto-mode-alist '("\\.Rnw\\'" . Rnw-mode))

Can't get Sweave syntax highlighting with Emacs
I can't get Emacs to automatically do syntax highlighting of
Sweave files. I have followed Friedrich's suggestion for code
to insert into my .emacs file. The complete section from my .emacs
file is given below. When I load a *.Snw file, font is white until I press
M-x, then the first code and document chunks get highlighted, but not
the rest of the file. Latex and Noweb menus are

I am having some trouble getting reftex, in particular the bibtex

Working comfortably with (X)Emacs + Sweave
Dear List,
I am trying to become more familiar with Sweave at the moment, beacuse
I am convinced that it will eventually make my life easier. However,
I have not found anything relevant in the mail archives about the
following problem.
Both the article in R-News and the Sweave FAQ suggest that Emacs would
be a great development environment for working with Sweave. So far, it
doesn't seem to

Sweave encoding problem
Hello,
Sweave seems to have trouble processing german letters in R.
For example, my noweb R-input looks like this.
<<>>=
Oberfl?chenfehler = c(4, 11, 6, 2, 7, 9)

If I send it through Sweave, I get the following error message.

ESS and Xemacs version 21.5.28
Hi,
When I start Xemacs version 21.5.28 (in Unix), using the init.el:

(setq grep-find-use-xargs nil)

I get the following error:

ess settings
Dear R users,
I downloaded an ess-5.2.2 package and hope to use emacs as
front to work with R. I modified ~/.emacs and start R by
M-x R. But I found when I quited the R session, it still asked me to
save the work space or not. I added inferior-R-args with
"--save" args. But it seemed that it had no effect. Can
you tell me how to pass the arguments other than
--no-readline to

Calling LISP programs in R
I have written some programs in Common Lisp and I have been using SAS to pipe
those programs to my lisp compiler in batch mode by using the %xlog and
%xlst SAS commands. I wonder if there is in R a similar way to pipe commands
to LISP so that all my work would be concentrated in R even when I have to
call a LISP program? I have looked at the foreign library but this seems to
adjust data types not

[PATCH libguestfs] doc: improve emacs snippets
I've made some local commits that introduce TABs as indentation,
and thus provoke a "make syntax-check" failure.
This would have prevented it:

Sweave driver extension
Almost all of the coxme package and an increasing amount of the survival
package are now written in noweb, i.e., .Rnw files. It would be nice to
process these using the Sweave function + a special driver, which I can
do using a modified version of Sweave. The primary change is to allow
the following type of construction

Sweave and accents
Hello.
I want to write my notes in Sweave in my own language (spanish). But
my language has accents and when I run Sweave in R to translate my Snw
file into the tex file the accents are translated into unrecognizable
characters.
For example, the word "cami?n" (truck) is translated into "cami??n"
Somebody knows how can I do it?
One solution I don't like is using a

I'm at a loss with a problem considering running .tex files produced

sweave xtable and driver RweaveHTML
Hi,
So far I used Sweave to create pdf reports. I used xtable to create some
tables in the report.
But now I would like to use the same snw file to generate an HTML version.
The xtable output breaks the RweaveHTML driver.
