SDMTools package - calculating overlap?
Dear R users, Any idea of how to calculate an area of an overlap between two functions? The only R build in function that I found is I Similarity Statistic for Quantifying Niche Overlap and I am really not sure if this function is producing exactly what I am interested in since I was plotting functions and often got confused results (for example: got high value for the overlap of one pair and low

as.POSIXct character string is not in a standard unambiguous format
Hi Ben Thanks for your answer I have already tried this, as well as x <- as.POSIXct(strptime("2002-02-02 02:02", "%Y-%m-%d %H:%M")) It works! But it does not fix it widely for all tests used during the "make check" step at compile time. Unless I patch all of them. There is something with localtime but I cannot find what. On another machine with another

new package 'SeleMix' for selective editing
Dear R users, we would like to announce that on the CRAN a new package (SeleMix version 0.8.1) for selective editing is available. This package includes functions for identification of outliers and influential errors in numerical data. For each unit, it provides also anticipated values (predictions) for both observed and non observed variables. The method is based on explicitly modelling both

barplot() options for intervals on axes
Hello, I am a beginner with R. I read many tutorials and the FAQ but I cannot solve my problem. I use barplot() to view my graph. I try to get more interval marks on y axis. I wasn't able to find options in 'help(barplot)' or 'help(par)' to do this with barplot(). I seek for another option to print y values on my bars like on the graph of the R homepage:

Share folder for Group users
Hi, I create a directory that will be accessed (read &write) by some users in a windows ADS group. This directory also is shared using samba. If users login to samba server directly using telnet or ssh, they can do writing and reading in this directory. Tinc not starting but not complaining either
Hi everybody, I've spent last 16 hours trying to get Tinc working on my two almost identical linux boxes. Both are running Debian stable with backported Openssl and self-compiled kernel 2.4.24 with ebtables-patch to enable bridging firewall. Both firewalls have both masquaraded and just bridged nets behind (LAN & DMZ) and they are working perfectly. Now I need to get from my home to
