xypplot (lattice): colours of lines
Using data from a multicenter study with a parallel-group design comparing two treatments, I plotted each subject's time change of X after stratifying for center: xyplot(X ~ time | center, type="l", panel=panel.superpose, groups=subject) Now I want these lines to take different colours according to the variable "treatment". Any help? Umberto

loops: pasting indexes in variables names
I cannot figure out how, using R, I can paste indexes or characters to the variable names which are used within loops. I will explain this with a simple example: Immagine I have a huge series of variables, each one taken two times, say x1 x2 y1 y2 z1 z2..... Now, immagine that I want to compute a variable from the difference of each couple, say dx=x1-x2, dy=y1-y2, dz=z1-z2... In Stata, for

Design functions after Multiple Imputation
I am a new user of R for Windows, enthusiast about the many functions of the Design and Hmisc libraries. I combined the results of a Cox regression model after multiple imputation (of missing values in some covariates). Now I got my vector of coefficients (and of standard errors). My question is: How could I use directly that vector to run programs such as 'nomogram', 'calibrate',

Samba PDC and User Management with Perl scripts
Hello, I want to implement a perl logon script which would map network shares depending on group membership. This way when I move a user to or from a group it automatically gets the new shares. The PDC is Samba 2.2.1 or 2.2.2 on BSD and clients are NT workstation and 2000 Pro. Perl is latest activestate for win32 and is intended to run on Win32 clients. The big trouble is getting user Group

Hi, I have serious problems to manage oplocks on Samba Share. Some clients have been installed Office 2000 SP3 + Windows XP SP1; they aren't working because Word+ Excel save files only read-only when reopen the file and I try to save. If use Wordpad or something else, It'll works fine. on the smb.conf: level2 oplocks = yes oplocks = yes veto oplock files =

Building ustack() helpers on OS X without -G
I am trying to integrate John Levon''s ustack() helper for Python into the upstream Python sources. The method for doing this on Solaris is to compile the phelper.d script containing the helper into an object file using "dtrace -G". dtrace on OS X does not have "dtrace -G", just "dtrace -h". This works fine for USDT probes, but I am at a loss on how to

Using smbclient and mount.cifs with SPN in Keytab
Hi, for a static cifs mount (automount from fstab) I would like to use kerberos with a SPN. The share is accessed from a http service, so I use HTTP/www.samdom.example.com with the username http-www.samdom.example.com. Unfortunately I can not get it to work. The keytab is generated as described on [1]. # klist -kt /etc/http.keytab Keytab name: FILE:/etc/http.keytab KVNO Timestamp

Error with rgl loading in BATCH mode
Dear all, I'm trying to run a script that requires KernSmooth in BATCH mode but I get an error while loading rgl library that is needed by KernSmooth. Actually I have to run several batch files through a queue of a cluster, so I wouldn't need graphics at all. I installed the latest releases of R (2.6.1) and rgl on my CentOS 4.2 Linux (clone of Red Hat EL) endowed with Rocks 4.2.1 suite

Drivers supporting space_hard_limit
Hi, In the XML documentation I found the element space_hard_limit for filesystems [1]. Is this feature implemented for any constellation? I try to use it with lxc 1.0.6-6 and libvirt 1.2.9-9 (all from debian jessie): <domain type='lxc' id='1234'> .... <devices> <emulator>/usr/lib/libvirt/libvirt_lxc</emulator> .... <filesystem

order of panels in xyplot
I'm having trouble with the order of the panels using xyplot. I had used this bit of code before and received the desired plot (the code was not identical, but very similar; perhaps more importantly I was working with an older version of R) . Now the panels appear right to left instead of left to right, as it says in the help files, which is what I would like. Does anyone know if this has

No, isn't. but you have to try; 'cos, in my opinion, of course, you won't login in bdc; but, the roaming profiles (home directory) must be in pdc; if that works, you will try set (in bdc): logon path = \\PDC\blablabla... xyplot() question
Dear R Users, I have an xyplot() where different plotting symbols are used for subgroups (originally used within S-Plus, but hopefully it?s also applicable to R users). How can I fit separate regression lines for every subgroup? So far, I can only plot the overall fitted line. The code looks like this: trellis.device() sps<-trellis.par.get("superpose.symbol") sps$pch<-1:7

wrong lines in auto.key xyplot
Hi all, I'm having a problem with the auto.key function in xyplot. I changed the symbols an lines styles using these commands trellis.par.set(superpose.symbol=list(pch=c(0,1,2,3,4,5,6,8,15,16))) trellis.par.set(superpose.symbol=list(col=c(rep("black",11)))) trellis.par.set(superpose.symbol=list(cex=c(rep(0.6,11))))

Apache2 Kerberos-Authentication and LDAP-Authorization
Hi, I built an apache config which combines Kerberos-Authentication and LDAP-Authorization to allow SSO and require ldap-group at the same time. I think this might be interesting to add to [1], but before that, I would like to have it double-checked, to be sure that it adds no security issues. The steps to create the keytab file, etc are from the other two guides, except that the user

auto.key in xyplot in conjunction with panel.text
All, I can't seem to get auto.key to work properly in an xyplot that is employing panel.text. Specifically, I often change the default grouping colors then use auto.key accordingly, but for some reason the same functionality isn't working for this different type of plot. Any help much appreciated. Cheers, David library("lattice") dat = data.frame( Y = c(rnorm(18,1),

Adding site id to xyplot
Dear R Lists, Can anyone help me add site IDs (site: 1~50) directly to my xyplot. I have 50 sites and collected observations from the sites at 13 different time points. I want to look at the change of my observations in each site. I was able to make a graph using xyplot, however, I can't find how to add site IDs within the graph not adding them in the legend. Overall, I would like to be able

Samba 3.0.4 acl problem
Hi list I have a strange problem with my Samba 3.04 server running on redhat 9 with 2.4.24 kernel (with acl patch from acl.bestbits.at applied to it). Acls are working fine on my system, and my server is working fine as a Samba PDC (or so it seems). I can view and modify any permissions on the existing files that are being shared. different plot symbols in key using xyplot
I'm using xyplot in a very simple way---a scatter plot of several data sets. I'm having a problem getting auto.key to display different point characters. The following produces a plot that employes different colors, all with pch(1), for the different groups, with a matching key. xyplot(Force~Time, rawData, groups=Sample, panel = panel.superpose, auto.key=TRUE) The following
