Lattice 3d coordinate transformation
Hello List!
I asked this before (with no solution), but maybe this time... I'm
trying to project a surface to the XY under a 3d cloud using lattice.
I can project contour lines following the code for fig 13.7 in
Deepayan Sarkar's "Lattice, Multivariate Data Visualization with R",
but it fails when I try to "color them in" using panel.levelplot.

Lattice: correct use of ltransform3dto3d to plot a surface under a cloud ?
Hello list!
I am trying to project the fitted surface to a 3d plot of the data,
similar to figures 13.7 or 6.5 in Deepayan Sarkar's "Lattice,
Multivariate Data Visualization with R", but replace the contour/map
lines with "levelplot". Problem is I can't get the color regions to
line up after the coordinate transformation. Is there a simple
solution my geometry

question about cloud() in lattice package
Hi all,
I have been previously been using scatterplot3d package to create some graphs but unfortunately it does not allow me to rotate the
plot on all three axis. The cloud() function in the lattice package does allow me to do so. When I was using scatterplot3d I was
using a script (Shown Below) to calculate the mean, quartiles and range limits for all three axis and I was representing that on the

lattice: cloud: aspect ratio, labels, vertical lines
I am interested to know how to make for clouds:
- aspect ratio = 1
- labels attached to points
- vertical lines from the points to the x/y base plane
I tried:

lattice: wireframe "eats up" points; how to make points on wireframe visible?
Dear expeRts,
I would like to add two points to a wireframe plot. The points have (x,y,z) coordinates
where z is determined to be on the wireframe [same z-value]. Now something strange
happens. One point is perfectly plotted, the other isn't shown at all. It only
appears if I move it upwards in z-direction by adding a positive number. So somehow
it disappears in the wireframe-surface

lattice cloud and conditional axis limits
I'm using the 'cloud' function in the 'lattice' package to produce
multi-panel 3D scatter plots. The range of the values used vary much
between each panel (especially on the z axis), so I wish the axis limits
to be calculated based on the (conditional) data.
Here's a minimal example:

wireframe color
Hello, hopefully simple question, but I cannot find the answer. I need to
change the color from the standard default. Still want the scaled colors,
but need different colors for different graphs.

Two questions about cloud().
(1) Is there a (simple) way of getting cloud() to do *both*
type="p" and type="h"? I.e. of getting it to plot the points
as points *and* drop a perpendicular line to the underlying plane?
(2) Is there a way of telling cloud() to drop its lines to the
floor of the bounding box, rather than to the plane z=0?

Adding points to wireframe
Hi,
I am using function wireframe from package lattice to draw a 3D surface.
I would like to add a few points on the surface. I read in a post from
Deepayan Sarkar that "To do this in a wireframe plot you would probably
use the panel function panel.3dscatter". Does someone have an example?
When calling panel.3dscatter with only x, y and z arguments I get
"argument

grayscale wireframe??
I need grayscale formatting for a wireframe.
The only col.regions that I can find are color palettes are all colored:
rainbow(n, s = 1, v = 1, start = 0, end = max(1,n - 1)/n,
gamma = 1, alpha = 1)
heat.colors(n, alpha = 1)
terrain.colors(n, alpha = 1)
topo.colors(n, alpha = 1)
cm.colors(n, alpha = 1)

Adding points to a wireframe: 'x and units must have length >0' error

I'm trying to follow the suggestions given by Deepayan Sarkar in this

partly formed plot- with the colored lattice visible but no axis labels or
additional points- with the error message "error using packet 1, 'x' and

Lattice: use levelplot as panel for wireframe
Hi,
I want to draw a figure similar to http://dsarkar.fhcrc.org/lattice/book/images/Figure_13_07_stdBW.png
from http://lmdvr.r-forge.r-project.org/figures/figures.html (figure
13.7) . However instead of using a contour plot as a panel for the
wireframe I want to use a levelplot. Can somebody help me with this?

Creating Movies with R
Dear All,
I'd like to know if it is possible to create animations with R.
To be specific, I attach a code I am using for my research to plot
some analytical results in 3D using the lattice package. It is not

To add cut-off points in surface response with lattice
Good morning gentlemen!
I'm not a fan of the lattice due to a large number of procedures what should
be done to reach a simple goal, but have confess that in some cases the
graphics are way better than the graphics. Some days I have been searching
without success as is to add a cut-off point on a graph of response surface.

I draw the Relative Distribution graph,
it looks like barchart(X,Y plot),
but I have ten(year) Relative Distribution grapgs,
have any command am can combine ten barcharts(X,Y plot) to become a three

Add lines (contours) to lattice wireframe plot
Hi,
I draw a surface corresponding to bivariate density of independent
variables (rho=0) using persp(). Then I add a contour line (i.e.,
circle in my case) at a particular density. Below is a minimal example
of what I have so far.

Contour lines in a persp plot
Hello folks,
i'm a R beginner and i want to put in a same plot both contour lines
and persp plot.
For example,

x<-seq(from=1,to=100,by=1) #generates a list of x values to sample

help with scatterplot3d
Hello,
I am having a bit of trouble with scatterplot3d().
I was able to plot a 3d cloud of points using the following code:
>my.3dplot<-scatterplot3d(my.coords, pch=19, zlim=c(0,1), scale.y=0.5,
angle=30, box=FALSE)
where my.coords is a data frame that contains x, y, and z coordinates for
grid points whose elevation we sampled.
The problem occurs when I try to add points using points3d.
