SMS
Sorry for being such a dumbell. I want to implement SMS. Do I need to download the latest CVS to get SMS functionality? I only have one asterisk box and it's in production. A bit risky seeing as I know feck all. I am kaking myself that when I get the latest code it will all go pear shaped. who dares wins. Also I am not too sure on how to include the example contexts given in the WIKI.

(PR#9691) 'Bug'#424696: R CMD INSTALL -l <path> does not
I looked for evidence that this is supposed to happen, as it was news to me that it did on some versions of R. Possible sources of documentation seem to be R CMD INSTALL --help ?INSTALL R-intro.texi, R-exts.texi, R-admin.texi none of which mention this AFAICS, and all seem to be written assuming an existing library tree. DId you find something to suggest otherwise? Clearly no alpha/beta

Icecast [Bad Password]
I used an underscore ( _ ) and a couple of upper case characters for the passwords but after taking them out it didn't change the situation. <p><p>I had originally hardcoded the hostname address as '10.0.0.5' (where both Icecast and Ices is running), and when set up like this, the client would hang. I have since changed it so that the hostname is now

Poll: Does R_PAPERSIZE in /etc/R/Renviron matter?
A heuristic runs via the r-base-core package postinst. It is intended to use the result from Debian's paperconf(1) toool, and to update the R environment variable R_PAPERSIZE accordingly. This apparently broke some time ago when R changed to a dual variable setup, and my regexp didn't notice. Does anybody use this, or is it ok if I simply disable this in Debian? In that case we simply

ioemu/xenfb
Hi folks There are two components, which are currently not included in the main utils package: ioemu, xenfb. ioemu is currently shipped in its own package, xenfb is not shipped at all. Should we fold them into the main utils package for simplicity? ioemu adds 300k to the package and 4300k in one dependency (libsdl1.2debian). xenfb adds another 200k to the package and 200k in one dependency

Relationships between png resolution, axis.text$cex trellis setting, and paddings
Dear R-users, I was wondering if somebody could shed some light on the relationships existing between the resolution of a png device, the axis.text$cex trellis setting, and the paddings of the actual graph. In the following code, I create a custom trellis theme that set (among other thing) axis.text$cex to 1 instead of the default 0.8. Then a lattice graph is created and exported to three png

Building R under Linux - library dependencies
Hello and apologies if this doesn't belong here. I'm trying to build a "portable" version of R - "portable" means that it could be easily moved to another location or machine simply by copying it. However, I encountered a problem when running it elsewhere: it seems that versions of dynamic libraries used by R are fixed and set at the build time; when that instance of R

mixed model for Splus and R
Hi there, I try to compare the mixed model package "lme" by Splus and R. I used the dataset "Ovary" and the following code assuming AR(1) model for the error term: lme(follicles ~ sin(2*pi*Time) + cos(2*pi*Time), data=Ovary, random = pdDiag(~sin(2*pi*Time) ) , correlation=corAR1() ) But I got different results! And then I used a simpler model: lme(follicles ~

Trying to install R on Lucid Lynx
Hi: I installed Lucid Lynx amd64 on my system today, dual booted with Win 7. I've managed to install several packages through the Ubuntu Software Center with success and also installed texlive. Alas, installing my favorite software has not been so joyful. I went through the last few months of posts in this group to find something similar, but to no avail. After a couple of false starts, I
