Basically, my problem is that running Mongrel as a service works fine. Fine until I change the configuration (using service::remove and service::install) to use --prefix. I must have this as I am running multiple webapps and app

Not all mongrel starting (Errno:EEXIST)
I''m playing with the mongrel clustering, and am having a problem getting 2 mongrels to start up reliably. This should be a pretty simple cluster, with just 2 instances running. My mongrel config (mongrel_cluster.yml) looks like: cwd: /deployment/installed/myapp/current log_file: log/mongrel.log port: "8000" environment: production address: 127.0.0.1 pid_file:

capistrano+mongrel struggles
Hello, I am trying to deploy on to OS X Server with capistrano+mongrel+apache2, etc. I''m trying to do a "cap cold_deploy" as recommended here: http://blog.codahale.com/2006/06/19/time-for-a-grown-up-server-rails-mongrel-apache-capistrano-and-you/ I had a devil of a time getting cap to find the mongrel_rails command (which is in /opt/local/bin) on the server. I set the

Machine reboot - monit fails to start mongrels
Greetings - I dug around a bit and I couldn''t find a definitive answer to this question, apologies if it''s been covered before. A box running a apache 2.2 -> mongrel cluster for a rails app got power cycled at my ISP. Unfortunately monit couldn''t start the mongrel processes because the pid files were still there. Here is my monit config (for each mongrel

service::start problem on win32
Posted this on rubyforge, thought I would put it here at as well. I just started playing around with mongrel. I am currently using apache + fastcgi. I am running a windows box and I followed the directions at http://mongrel.rubyforge.org/docs/win32.html. I am able to install the service fine and also start the service from the windows service control panel. However, when I try to start the

Win32 issues with 0.3.13
Hey, I have just a few observations to report about the new version of Mongrel (0.3.13) on Win32. 1. When installing a new service, I have to use -N instead of -n to set the name of my app. The help file (-h option) has this right but the examples and such on the website all use -n. 2. The website documentation on the Win32 howto lists service::delete as a command but it should be

Mongrel + mod_proxy URL issues
We have a Centos server with a number of virtual hosts, and my rails app runs under one of those virtual hosts using mongrel_rails. The app lives in /home/mydomain/railsapp where /home/mydomain/railsapp/public is the rails root. It runs under mongrel on port 8008, so to get to it users invoke the url http://www.mydomain.com:8008/ - all is fine to this point. Now I have some users whose

Mongrel 0.3.6 -- Win32 Service/Rails Real Good
Hello Folks, This release of Mongrel should make the win32 folks go crazy. Thanks to Luis Lavena it supports a full service system for installing any Rails app as a service. This lets you start your rails apps from either the command line or the Service console. Stopping is still a bit problematic but we hope to have that solved in the next release. You win32 folks should probably send Luis

logrotate, mongrel cluster and monit
While I could figure this out, I''m asking here first to see if anyone has already dealt with/created this. I''m running a mongrel cluster, running 4 mongrels on ports 8001-4. I''m using capistrano to deploy. And I''d like to use monit to check to make sure everything is running nice. I''d like to have monit restart only single mongrels if they fail, and

mongrel start oddities
I am running mongrel-0.3.13.1. Have used lighty and fcgi in the past, and I must say that apache-2.0.x proxying to mongrel is much nicer to deal with! I am having this problem, however. If I am in root''s homedirectory, and start mongrel with this command: --------- mongrel_rails start -a 127.0.0.1 -e production -c /home/www/rails/myapp -l log/mongrel.log --user mongrel --group mongrel
