[ActsAsFerret] OpenSolaris (TextDrive) indexing issues
Gents, I successfully installed AAF on my TextDrive OpenSolaris Container, but I''m having some issues with indexing. I have a model called Blogs which has AAF enabled. The first time I tried to find_by_contents for a ''word'' I know was on the Database I got now results. Apparently the index was not ready yet. Then I waited a few hours and checked that the /index

problems after gem update
Hi, I had ferret working wonderfully but i am regretting doing a gem update today. I had alot of trouble first installing it and was really happy to have it working. The upgrade was from 0.3.1 to 0.4.0. The problem is; in the rails console, >> @results = Book.find_by_contents("peter pan") => #<ActsAsFerret::SearchResults:0x487040c @total_hits=0, @results=[]> Its indexing

IO Error occured at <except.c>:79 in xraise (IOError)
Hi, after a long indexing run I got the following error. I have 149 MB space left on the disk, the index is 311 MB large; could Ferret have tried to use more than that for the optimizing? Or would that have resulted in a different error message? /usr/local/ruby-1.8.5/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/rails-1.1.6/lib/commands/runner.rb:27:

acts_as_ferret: reindexing it too slow
Hi, Recently, I was trying to play around with AAF and found that reindexing table is very slow. Then I started looking into Ferret performance and tried myself and found that it''s very fast. Then, I just used Ferret to index my table and it was also very fast. All good. Then why reindexing using AAF is slow. After sometime I found that in the AAF, it uses (:key => :id) in

Acts_as_ferret and auto-flush
Hi, I''m using acts_as_ferret in with a mongrel and I'' m getting locking errors that after a while result in a corrupt database. strange behavior after switching to DRb server
After switching to the DRb server, I am experiencing strange behavior when sorting on score. My app was working as expected before the switch. Both before and after the switch, my app sorts properly on other fields, such as date. For sorting on score, I am using the following option find_by_contents option: :sort => Ferret::Search::SortField::SCORE Before switching to DRb, this worked
