Non-visible functions are asterisked
Dear R-Helpers, I suspect I'm about to ask a FAQ, but I haven't been able to find an answer in the FAQ, AItR or an R Site Search. When I look at the methods of summary (below) it says, "Non-visible functions are asterisked". I looked at the help file for summary.princomp, which did not comment on it being non-visible. I ran its help file example, which printed visible output. I

OT: PSTOWMF
Hallo, I've produced via R-0.62 several Life-tables 50*6 (mfrow=c(2,3)) as postscriptgraphs. The phd student, who asked for this, use word for windows--therefore i converted the whole stuff with pstoimg to gifs. Unlikly the result is not sufficient (I was told)... Is there a tool to convert ps to wmf/emf ? I looked for it but haven't found anything... Thanks for an answer Peter

The network is invisible!
I've installed Samba on a SuSE 10.2 machine, and the machine is visible to the other machines in the network (a Windows 98 desktop, a SuSE 10.0 desktop and a SuSE 10.1 laptop). So far so good. So can anybody explain why my network is not visible from this machine? The obvious suspect is the firewall, but shutting that down doesn't improve the situation one bit. Any ideas? -- All the

Trying to run FL Studio results in invisible main window
I installed FL Studio (version 10) in Wine (version 1.3.36). Installation works correctly. The program also starts correctly after installation, and appears to be fully functional, but it's totally invisible. Only the task bar entry in the KDE task manager bar appears and the initial dialog from FL Studio that informs me about this being a demo version. I know that the application is

make file.rename return invisible
Dear R Core devs, I wonder if it makes sense to make function file.rename return invisible? This is not a big issue, but when running in RMarkdown or knitr, this function will print results. I have to manually call invisible to hide the output from showing in the final document: ```r invisible(file.rename(...)) ``` Otherwise knitr will print: ``` file.rename(...) #> TRUE ``` If this

Invisible messages
I have pulled in a couple of messages using fetchmail and put them through a procmail filter, which has resulted in the two messages being visible in a file manager in ~/Maildir/Design/new. However, using my Imap account on this box I can't see those messages. Any hints, please? Anne

Invisible samba server
Hi, My samba server "linux-1" (samba-3.0.2-7.FC1) has suddenly become invisible from all windows client. The samba server is a member of the "RASKNO" workgroup and was visible when browsing the workgroup from windows clients a few weeks ago. The weird thing is that it is now invisible. The only changes has been regular updates of FC1. The symptoms is that I can search for

Drakensang (German demo): Invisible humans
Hi! I've got a problem running "Drakensang - Am Fluss der Zeit" (German demo, downloaded today): People are not visible. Their shadows and objects they handle are there, however. Surroundings are complete, too (or so it seems to me). I'm on Ubuntu 10.10 (32bit), ATI Radeon HD 5750. I've just compiled Wine 1.3.7 and executed Code: winetricks winxp sound=alsa corefonts

Sv: Sv: Ordinal Regression
Dear Peter. I guess you know that Jim Lindseys code include nordr and ordglm in library gnlm - I attach the htmls which do various linear and nonlinear ordinal regressions - exemplified with just the data mentioned, McCullagh (1980) JRSS B42, 109-142. I had it work very fine. -----Oprindelig meddelelse----- Fra: Peter Malewski <p.malewski at tu-bs.de> Til: Troels Ring <tring at

Invisible files and disk space
Hi All, I have an older CentOS 7.4 system that is used for computationally heavy work. It has a 32G root filesystem, of which 33% is consumed. Lately, one particular set of jobs (run through the SGE batch scheduler) seems to cause a peculiar condition to occur in which the root filesystem space is exhausted but I can't find any files that I can use to identify which process is causing the

Mouse cursor problems in Windows DomU after installing ATI-driver fglrx to X11
Hallo, I run Xen 3.0.4.1 on Ubuntu 6.06 with Gnome desktop. I can start Windows as DomU without problems, everything works fine (w2k server32 bit or w2k3 server 64 bit). Because I use the notebook HP nx9420 which has a wide screen, I installed into X11 the driver fglrx which supports the given resolution mode 1680x1050. Now, with the new driver The Gnome

how to modify a function in a R package calling other (invisible?) functions
Hey hey kids! I'm facing this rough problem: I have to modify a function in a R package (namely, homals) but I'm not able to do it from the R interface, since this function recalls other functions which looks like invisible... I downloaded the source package from CRAN, http://cran.r-project.org/src/contrib/homals_0.9-10.tar.gz http://cran.r-project.org/src/contrib/homals_0.9-10.tar.gz how

shared folder: messages become invisible
Hello, after dealing with shared folder within version 2.0 rc* I started using it with a group of users. user1 shares a folder to user2. user2 has access to messages of this shared folder. After a "random" time (minutes up to several days) user2 doesn't see those messages anymore. user1 (the owner) hasn't changed anything inside this folder. All messages are still in place

S3 generics without NS and cleanEx()
Good morning, we recently observed a problem with importing S3 generics from a foreign package (without namespace), defining a S3 method in a package _with_ namespace and the `cleanEx()' function which is automatically generated and executed before examples are run by R CMD check. To be more precise. Package `strucchange' defines a S3 generic sctest <- function(x, ...)
