Variance of a non-linear combination of the coefficient e stiamtes
< In Stata, I can just use "bs" function ...> in STATA the bs command runs a bootstrap If you want to use the bootstrap function (or you could linearize b*c/a :) look under ?boot (you may need to load the package first). Usage: boot(data, statistic, R, sim="ordinary", stype="i", strata=rep(1,n), L=NULL, m=0, weights=NULL,

constrained OLS on coefficient
Hi, I would like to know if anyone has any idea of how to run an OLS with constraints? I need to contraint a coefficient estimate in the model equal to 1, and I am not sure how to include it into the OLS estimation... I was hoping to find something like "cnsreg" in STATA.. thank you Soyoko ______________________________________ Ms. Soyoko Umeno Graduate Research Assitant for the

y label after axis (4)
Hi, I am trying to figure out how to lable the second y-axis after the following codes: plot(x, y, xlab="time", ylab="pay1" ) par(new=TRUE) plot(x,y2, ann=FALSE, xaxt="n", yaxt="n", pch=7 ) axis(4) Then, I want to label the second y axis "pay2". I tried "title(ylab="pay2")", but it put this lable on the first

read a file
Hi everyone, I am having a problem reading my data file in R. It only reads part of it, and stops doing it in half way through the data. I looked at the observation where reading stops, but it is really not different from the observations read it. I expanded the matrix size, but it did not help. I am using a text format to read the data file. Could someone help me? Thank you Soyoko

Two Y-axises and One X-axis
Hi, I would like to know if anyone knows how to draw a plot with two Y-axises and one X-axis? When you have two sets of y values that do not have the same scale, but correspond to the same x value, I would like to plot them on one graph. Could you please help me? Thank you Soyoko

Drakpxelinux
A collegue of I is working on an assitant for managing the pxelinux configuration. Here come a screenshot of a devel release, what do you think of such tool ? http://people.mandrakesoft.com/~aginies/drakpxe2.jpg PS: Some options are dedicated to the Mandrakelinux installer but the assistant could be used for some generic configuration. -- Erwan Velu Linux Cluster Distribution Project Manager

Chisq test for truncated count data and estiamte the expectation value
Dear all, I have some questions for count data. First, I want to calculate the expectation value and variance from truncated data when I assume that the truncated data follow Poisson or negative binomial distribution. For example, N freq 1 30 2 35 3 26 4 8 5 0 6 2 7 0 The mean of N is 2.2. If the data follows Poisson distribution, the estimated lambda is 1.9. Is there any package to

samba-winbind trust domain user issue.
Hi all, we are facing a strange issue about trust domain user issue. In the beginning. we are using samba-winbind integrated with Window AD(Server 2012r2 and Server 2008R2), they are working pretty well. but recently, the winbind client cloud not get the correct trust domian's user group info as well, like: id A\\user only show: uid=16077216(A\user) gid=16077216(A\domain

samba + kerberos + active directory with multiple domains
I've almost got this thing working. I have it set up on a centos machine to authenticate logins and automounts to windows file servers. But it won't allow me to specify a domain as part of the userid. I can set a default domain in smb.conf and logging into that domain works like a champ. And I can list the other domains with "wbinfo --online-status" (not sure what

Estimates at each iteration of optim()?
I am trying to maximise a complicated loglikelihood function with the "optim" command. Is there some way to get to know the estiamtes at each iteration? When I put "control=list(trace=TRUE)" as an option in "optim", I just got the initial and final values of the loglikelihood, number of iterations and whether the routine has converged or not. I need to know the

samba 2.2.7a and multiple logins...
Hello I use a new samba server with LDAP support as PDC for some Windows2000 and WindowsXP machines. All is working nice. The useer can login with a user/password in the domain, we have remote profiles, the user can access the samba shares and print etc. But after some time (< 1 day) we get a smbstatus output like the attached file. Users are connected multiple times with the same share

Coefficient of Variance (log values) !
Hi, I am calculating coefficient of variance (CV) for my ELISA's data. For normal values, I use the standard formula CV = SD/Mean * 100. Now, I would like to calculate CV for log values. Can any one please suggest me, how I can do this in R? Thanks in Advance. Regards, Sharon

GLM Logit and coefficient testing (linear combination)
Hi, I am running glm logit regressions with R and I would like to test a linear combination of coefficients (H0: beta1=beta2 against H1: beta1<>beta2). Is there a package for such a test or how can I perform it otherwise (perhaps with logLik() ???)? Additionally I was wondering if there was no routine to calculate pseudo R2s for logit regressions. Currently I am calculating the pseudo R2
