RQuantlib ?Windows Binary?
R:
Is there a reason why there isn't a Windows Binary version of RQuantlib on
CRAN? Usually when there is no binary, I just source the source code, but
this one appears to have various calls and methods and things like that so
I'm hesitant to do so. I know there has been a big discussion on why
Rmetrics doesn't have source for unix/linux, but that isn't on CRAN.

Where: package licenses
Thanks Thomas and Marc that is what I was looking for.
-Jason
The DESCRIPTION file for a package lists the license; this is also given
in the CRAN entry for each package.

Where: package licenses
R:
This stems from my curiosity about the previous thread about a request
for glm.nb code. The issue of package licenses was brought up and I was
hoping for some clarification on that. Using the function license() or
licence() gives info on the license for R, but something like
license(MASS) does not give info on the license for the MASS package
(perhaps it might be good to expand the

RWinEdt difficulties
Hello Everyone
I have just upgraded my PC to Windows 7 (64 bit) and I have installed R
2.12.2. R seems to be working fine.
I am having problems getting RWinEdt working with it though.
I have tried installing WinEdt 6.0 and WinEdt 5.5. But both fail with the
same error using R as 64 bit or 32 bit. I install the package using
Administrator rights.

constrained optimization in R
R:
I need to minimize a function such that the parameters when used in
another function result in a particular value, which i fix. That is, I
need min(f(a,b)) given g(a,b)=X, where min(.) is the minimum, f(.) and
g(.) are functions (with unknown gradients) of parameters a and b and X is
a fixed value. What optimization function(s) in R do you suggest?
constrOptim looks like it will work

R-2.6.0 and RWinEdt
Dear Listers,
I have just installed R-2.6.0 and the RWinEdt package 1.7-6 under
Windows XP.
The R-WinEdt menu well appears at launching (the command
library(RWinEdt) is in .Rprofile), but WinEdt is NOT started
automatically (this was not the case in the earlier versions of R). When
WinEdt is started by hand (eg double-click on a RWinEdt alias after R
launching), syntax highlighting and

RWinEdt problem
Hi R Helpers,
I am a long time RWinEdt user and have just acquired a new laptop. I have
installed RWinEdt and things are going smoothly except for one small glitch
- file names are not appearing on the document tabs. When I use WinEdt (as
opposed to RWinEdt), they are appearing. Can anyone offer any advice on
this?
Thanks in advance,

Question re: RWinEdt conflicting with my WinEdt
Hi,
This is a question regarding the RWinEdt package for R. I have WinEdt
5.5, RWinEdt 1.7-9, and R 2.6.0 on WindowsXP.
Somehow my configuration or start up files between RWinEdt and WinEdt
are getting confused. Usually when I open either one, the last files I
was working on *with that program* are opened automatically. So if I
last used mydoc.tex in WinEdt and myprogram.R in RWinEdt those

R WinEdt on Windows vista
Hi!
I was trying to install the RWinEdt library on a Windows Vista machine which had R 2.6.0, WinEdt 5.4 and the RWinEdt1.7.8.zip file in the library folder under the ...\R\2.6.0 directory. I am able to install fine form the local zip but I can't launch winedt from within R for some reason.

format.

I looked up these help pages and found the following solution.
lStr<-c(Blah1, Blah2,....Blah6, number 1, number2, ...number12)
legend(x="topright",lStr,ncol=3)
So this creates the tabular format I am

R 2.7.1 und WinEdt (PR#11806)
Hi,
under the new version R 2.7.1 I can't use WinEdt. It seems that there is
a bug in that version. To use older versions of the package RWinEdt
doens't bring success. The Use of R 2.7.0 doesn't cause that Problem.

cor.test p-value ties
R:
I got a warning message when running the cor.test function using both
Spearman and Kendall rank correlations saying that the p-value may be
incorrect due to ties in the data. My data has 35 obs and one series has
6 pairs of ties. Does anyone know if this would likely have a great
effect on the p-values calculated.. The values look good; tau = -0.68
with p-value = 8e-9 and rho = =0.84

Re: pausing a program
R:
I have a program that runs a For loop for days and I need to (if possible)
pause the program. Any ideas on how to do that? If I use stop, how
certain can I be that all the statements executed in the previous
iteration of the for loop?
