RColorBrewer Package Color index
Hi everyone,
Can anyone kindly help me with the interpretation of colors in the
RColorBrewer Package (brewer.pal) ?
For example, in brewer.pal command, when picking up the "RdBu" palette,
does red means larger or smaller value?
I am new to this fantastic program, and I have searched up and down, no
clue :( I will really appreciate your time if you can kindly give me a
hand.

strange behaviour of importFrom directive in name space
Dear listers,
After activating the name space for my bioconductor package (prada) I
successfully ran R CMD check. However when loading the package in R and
running the examples the imported function brewer.pal from package
RColorBrewer is not found. I can directly call brewer.pal from the
RColorBrewer name space typing RColorBrewer::brewer.pal, but it is not

need palette of topographic colors similar to topo.colors ()
I will second Roger's suggestion, colorRampPalette is a great function for
creating your own palettes. For example, Matlab's jet palette (also
available in fields package under peculiar name 'tim.colors') can be defined
by:
jet.colors = colorRampPalette(c("#00007F", "blue", "#007FFF", "cyan",
"#7FFF7F", "yellow",

Brewer.pal error
Hi all,
I have 35 years, I have been working since I exit from University. I have
returned to make a phd...I´m fortunatelly I´m working so unfortunatelly I
have few time to study (I have also a baby with 16 months).
I´m trying to use R but sometimes it gets very difficult.
I´m trying to put this code in my polygon function

color palette for points, lines, text / interactive Rcolorpicker?
I'm looking for a scheme to generate a default color palette for
plotting points, lines and text (on a white or transparent background)
with from 2 to say 9 colors with the following constraints:
- "red" is reserved for another purpose
- colors should be highly distinct
- avoid light colors (like "yellow"s)
In RColorBrewer, most of the schemes are designed for area fill

Brewer colours
Anyone who is interested in using optimal colour palettes should
look at the work of Cindy Brewer: www.colorbrewer.org
I have written code to use her colour schemes in R. It is
included below. Perhaps someone may find this interesting enough
to work into a package.
Included also is a function showpalette, which was posted here a
while back. I don't remember who wrote it.
I have copied all

legend color problems
Hello R-folks,
I don't get the color of the legend in a lattice-plot right. I select a palette from RColorBrewer and use it in the barchart plot.
The resulting graph shows the new palette in the graph, but in the legend rectangles the standard palette is used. Adding a col argument into auto.key uses the new palette
with the legend text, but not in the rectangle fill.
What am I missing?

Hi, I have been trying to plot density plots using the example on:

I used to use this function, but I cannot get any old code or even the example to work.

x2 <- matrix(rnorm(1e4, mean=3, sd=1.5), ncol=2)

SpatialPolygon with the max value gets no color assigned in spplot function when using "at" parameter
Hi,
I would like to do coloring of map regions based on the region values
"weight". The approach I am taking is first to break regions into equal
intervals,
classIntervals(spdf$weight,4)$brks #4 intervals in this case
and coloring all regions within the interval with the same color
col = brewer.pal(4,"RdYlGn"))
The max "weight" is as well the boundary of the

Splom custom superpanels
I thought one nice addition to a splom figure would be to have the
scatterplots in the upper triangle and a color-coordinated
correlation matrix on the bottom. So I tried my hand at customizing
panel.pairs(), and was rebuffed. Many times. Four hours of
fruitless debugging later, I turn to you for help:
panel.pairs(z=teststatfull[,6:12], pscales=0,
panel.subscripts=FALSE, subscripts=,

Hola,
Lo hice de la forma en que propones y no me sale, no sé si algo esté mal con R, porque no me respeta ni el ?key.space?, me lo sigue poniendo en la parte izquierda del gráfico

Graphics: Improving a Lattice plot - can it be done ?
Hallo all
I realise this might be a "too much to ask" question, but can I improve the Lattice plot produced by the following code? The type of figure I would like to produce in each segment of the plot appears below the code.
library(reserving) # http://toolkit.pbwiki.com/RToolkit <http://toolkit.pbwiki.com/RToolkit>

importing/loading package without a namespace
I am developing a package that imports some functions from another package.
The imported package (qcc) does not have a namespace and this is causing
problems with loading of my package, which has a namespace. Is there a
workaround to allow loading the namespace-less package?
I searched the archives and found a suggestion that the package should be
included in the Depends list, but this has not

Suggested color schemes for points, not regions?
I have seen a couple of posts about color schemes like those at the
ColorBrewer site. Most recently:
http://geography.uoregon.edu/datagraphics/color_scales.htm
These color schemes can work very well for regions (bars, polygons,
images, etc.) but are not very suitable for points and/or lines.
Is anyone aware of research/suggestions for a color scheme to use for
scatter plots? I've looked at
