Problems using Stream Transcoder and Icecast 2.3.1 (Windows)
Hey Guys, I've been working on Icecast 2.3.1 on my test server (Virtual Server-win2k3) And I am not able to get either stream transcoder v3 or v1.25/6 (whatever the current dos one is) to work on it. Also, there is a problem with the people from the game secondlife, they also cannot connect to the server to listen to it. Has something changed in the latest configuration? I've gone

Representing relationships between model objects
I''m a little stumped on how to approach the subject of representing relationships between a single model object. Basically, I want a User to be able to mark others as Friends, Contacts, etc. The caveat is that User A can mark User B as a Friend but that doesn''t mean User A is marked as a friend by User B. It can either be a one-way relationship or two-way relationship. Right

Okay, I''m finally asking for help
Hi, all! I would love if someone could help me figure this out. I can''t seem to see why the following fails: Here''s the spec: it "should redirect back to the index page" do Coupon.should_receive (:new).with({"name"=>@expectedName,"amount"=>@expectedAmount}).and_return(@coupon) @coupon.should_receive(:save) response.should

Implementing Globalize
Hello all, I was wondering if any of you know some good documentation that points out how to implement the Globalization plugin in your existing application. Also some text on how to use a cms like system with Globalization (how to handle the population of the translated texts per item for example) With kind regards, Gerard de Brieder. .html.erb files and autotest
When I work with a .html.erb file, the autotest rspec on rails stuff doesn''t understand the file to map it to the right test. I wanted to submit a patch for this, but I''m unsure where the specs would be to update. I found the necessary mapping in rspec_autotest.rb, but I can''t find any specs anywhere. Help? I just need to have /app/views/coupon/index.html.erb to map to

Not seeing the failure
All, I''m missing something simple, I think. I am writing a spec to say that my CouponController should create a new coupon from the form parameters, then set the current user. Here''s the spec: describe CouponController, "When posting to save_coupon" do before(:each) do @expectedName = "pepper''s" @expectedAmount = 5 coupon =

Help with Keyword Corral
I've been trying to get Keyword Corral (http://www.johncow.com/brand-new-free-keyword-corral-tool-by-john-cow-dot-com) installed with Wine 1.0.1 on Ubuntu 8.10 and the best I can manage is the program appears to start up and then quits. Unfortunately, I've only recently moved to Ubuntu and there's a lot I don't have a clue about. I've tried running it in a Virtualbox VM but

Issue with Perl and rpmforge - advice?
I have an old version of rkhunter installed on my CentOS 5 machine, one I got from rpmforge. In my most recent attempts to update this, I get the following errors in yum: Resolving Dependencies --> Running transaction check ---> Package perl-AnyEvent.noarch 0:5.240-1.el5.rf set to be updated --> Processing Dependency: perl(JSON::XS) >= 2.2 for package: perl-AnyEvent --> Processing

Dropped frames streaming video to samba
Hi, We've got a setup here with a samba server in front of a fibrechannel array. It's a pretty vanilla samba setup exporting an xfs filesystem. The box is an opteron 265 with 4G RAM and a QLogic QLA2312 HBA running SLES9. We can dd an 8G file to a share from a windows workstation in just over 2 minutes (about 65MB/s) and dd back in about 4 minutes. Local disk performance in the machine

xentop, anyone?
Has anyone started work on a ''top''-like tool that would show the current CPU and memory usage of domains? I''m thinking of writing something really simple in python, starting from listdoms.py, but want to make sure that someone else isn''t already there. Steve -- Stephen G. Graceful shutdown of a virtual domain
Hi All, I''ve been looking through the code and list archives but haven''t found this yet... From dom0, how do you cause a virtual domain to gracefully shutdown? It seems like the machinery is there somewhere, because the hypervisor can do it to dom0... For reference, in UML you do this by putting this in /etc/inittab: ca:12345:ctrlaltdel:/sbin/shutdown -h now ...and then

OT local version control?
Hi, all, This isn''t about rspec, but this list has people whose opinions I respect. So, I''m looking for a new version control system for my local development. I was going to install subversion, but I''ve heard rumors of people using some newer ones. Thoughts? I''d like to be able to run it either locally or on a home server. If I run it off a home server, then

PXE booting
Hi! I have been using pxelinux with memdisk to boot our workstations with our custom floppy, which is a MSDOS boot disk (actually it is win98) On one of the PC's I'm testing, a Fujitsu-Siemens which has an AMDtek based on-board network card and when PXE is activated, it gets an IP from the DHCP, then it finds the TFTP server, downloads pxelinux.0, executes it which causes the floppy to
