MAC OSX vs Win XP: Different stats test results!
Hi all, I wondered whether anyone has some advice on a stats-related 'sanity check', as I ran a nonparametric multivariate test (mulrank function as decribed by R. Wilcox, 2005) on both systems, but got different results (please see below for the system-specific outputs)! The functions I used are attached as well. Any advice would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance for getting back to

A regression in 3.0.25rc3?
Dear Samba team, I have installed the above release of samba and I am seeing the same problem as decribed in this old posting when I try to add permissions to printers: http://lists.samba.org/archive/samba/2006-July/123177.html Interesting that this was last seen in 3.0.23. 3.0.24 behaves as expected. Thanks Alex

calling R from Perl
Hi, I want to call R from Perl to generate plots to be displayed on a webpage. What I found out so far is that there is a package called RSPerl on www.omegahat.org which should do what I need. However in the description it says it has been tested with R 1.3.* the latest. I'm using R 1.8.0 right now so the package seems rather unmaintained. It is not easy for me to just install it and see

Perl-R bridge
Hi, I'm planning to access R from my perl scripts. The only noteworthy bridge seems to be Statistics-R-0.03<http://search.cpan.org/%7Ectbrown/Statistics-R/lib/Statistics/R.pm>. Would anyone like to share their experience with this Perl-R bridge? I'd like to install it in a Mac OS X. Suggestions on alternate solutions will be appreciated. Thanks in advance, Anjan --

Dear R-help, I am trying to build R-1.5.1 on a Sun Blade 100 (sparc). It fails make check when var(1) returns NaN instead of NA. Using gcc-2.95.3 from sunfreeware.com, the build succeeds and passes make check I have: Solaris 8 gcc-3.1 (built on that machine from sources and installed in /usr/local/gcc-3.1 with binaries symlink'ed to /usr/local/bin) A synopsis is at the bottom of

Hello, I am trying to call R from Perl running on Windows 2000. I have looked through the previous posts regarding running R from Perl and all have referred to the RSPerl package at Omegahat. Unfortunately the documentation for this package specifically states that it only works in Unix at the moment. Does anyone else have any suggestions about the best way to do this in the Windows
