SOM library for R
Hi. Three years ago, I've read the question of availability of SOM library for R using Kohonen's SOM_PAK in this mailing-list. This answer was no availability. And no package dealing with SOM in CRAN. Is this situation same? Could you tell me availability this library? Best Regards.

Wrote new tiff package, would like big-endian tiffs for testing
Over the years I have noted a couple of people interested in an R package that will read tiff files. There were some valid arguments against (e.g. R is not an image editting suite, libtiff does not support all tiff files, etc.). True enough, when I want to work with family photos, I use Gimp. But in my research I use tiffs as data sets in the context of computational biology and molecular

About ability of "allShortestPaths" function in e1071 package
Hello. R's e1071 package has "allShortestPaths" function using Floyd's algorithm. It is very useful for road network analysis. I'll try to analyze facility allocation programs using this. I'd like to know how much nodes this function can deal with? And for larger nodes(for example million nodes), allShortestPaths employs graph partition algorithm? Regards.

Reproducable panic with multicast on VLAN interface
Hi, I have a problem with FreeBSD-4.8-STABLE in which the system panics when multicast definitions are being removed from an interface. The later is very easily reproduced by killing zebra. This is a rather serious problem because it makes FreeBSD unusable as a VLAN router in a data center. I filed a PR for this including the traceback (kern/54314), but on examination of the gnats database I

permission bits clobbered
A file is chmod 600. It gets opened on Windows, and it gets changed to 644. Now the secrets are exposed to all users. This is bad! This happens if the user does: N:\> echo foobar > secretfile But it does stay at chmod 600 if he does (append instead of truncate): N:\> echo foobar >> secretfile Why does this happen? The "create mask" parameter is set to 644. I do not

[LLVMdev] [PATCH] Detect Haswell subarchitecture (i.e. using -march=native)
Hi Adam, > * I have marked HasAVX2 as "volatile", since otherwise it gets > magically zeroed (by optimizer?) when compiling clang with latest > clang build from trunk That's far more worrying to me than not being able to detect Haswell. I can't reproduce the problem here at the moment: both debug and release builds give identical assembly for Host.cpp. I don't
