Menu addditions to Rcmdr v0.9-6
1) In general, I would appreciate help in adding functions to the Rcmdr menu system. I've been able to modify the menus themselves and source test code but I can't get R functions to execute from the menu. My latest proof of concept code follows: Three lines added to "Rcmdr-menus.txt": menu junkMenu topMenu "" ""

I'd like to announce a new version, 1.3-0, of the Rcmdr package. The Rcmdr package provides a basic-statistics graphical user interface (GUI) to R. Beyond small changes and additions, this new version of the package makes provision for "plug-ins" that permit extension of the Rcmdr GUI without altering and rebuilding the Rcmdr source package or modifying the installed package. Rcmdr plugins produce error
I recently updated all my plugins, and for the fun of it, I added ALL the Rcmdr Plugins to my collection to see what functionality might exist. I started Rcmdr and loaded ALL the available Plugins from to the Rcdmdr Tools menu. To my suprise Rcmdr produced a number of warnings and finally an error. The error suggests that some of the extensions are incompatable with each other because of menu

new version of Rcmdr package
Dear R-announce list members, I've uploaded to CRAN a new version of my Rcmdr package, which provides a cross-platform basic-statistics GUI for R. This version has a few new features, but mostly addresses some problems that arose with the original version. The relevant portion of the CHANGES file for the package is appended. As before, suggestions and reports of problems are appreciated.

new cross-platform basic-statistics GUI
Dear R-announce list members, I've submitted a new package to CRAN, Rcmdr, which provides a cross-platform basic-statistics GUI for R. Rcmdr is based on the tcltk package and uses only standard Tk widgets. It therefore runs under Windows if Tcl/Tk support is installed with R, although it requires the single-document interface (SDI). I've tested Rcmdr with Windows and Red Hat Linux;

Problem with Rcmdr Help menu under devel version of R 2.0.0
Dear list members, I've encountered the following problem with the Rcmdr Help menu in the development version of R 2.0.0 under Windows XP ("Version 2.0.0 Under development (unstable) (2004-08-20), ISBN 3-900051-00-3"): The main Commander window has a (tcltk) Help menu with three items, "Commander help", "About Rcmdr", and "Introduction to the R

Rcmdr window border lost
Dear Andy and Peter, My apologies for chiming in so late, but I was out of town and just caught up with R-help today (and an impressive amount of material accumulates on R-help in a couple of weeks!). Although I develop the Rcmdr package on a Windows system, I test it under Linux as well -- most recently on Ubuntu 7.04 with R 2.5.0. Curiously, the windows for Rcmdr 1.3-5 look normal to me, as I

problem with fix() called from Rcmdr
Dear list members, I and my students have encountered an intermittent problem using the Rcmdr package (version 0.9-0) under Windows (with the SDI). The problem occurs both in versions 1.7.1 and 1.8.0 of R. The problem seems to occur only in the following context: The "Edit data set" button is pressed in the Rcmdr GUI. This executes the fix() function on the active data frame,

Compiled Rcmdr Plugin package (zip) has no etc/menus.txt
Dear Rcmdr users, I use R-2.9.2, Rcmdr 1.5-1 and the latest Rtools bundle (and the html help workshop) under Windows XP. I wrote a RcmdrPlugin for some important functions of Thomas Lumley's "survey" package. Problem: Package compilation works without displaying any errors. That is 1) "R CMD build ..." works fine. 2) "R CMD INSTALL --build..." generates the

Tiger Mac stalls running Rcmdr program
I am a Macintosh computer (MAC OS X Version 10.4.3) user. I would like to run R for structural equation modeling and meta-analysis but am having difficulty using the Rcmdr interface. According to the R commander installation notes for Tiger Macs I need to 1) Install X11.app from Apple Install disks which I have done 2) Install R.app which I have done 3) Install binary package rgl from CRAN

Blank windows in Rcmdr
I started to learn R and like to use Rcmdr. I have the latest R (R-2.6.2) and R commander (1.3-14). When I go to Tools menu (for example) pull down "load packages" in Rcmdr, a blank window is up and there is nothing in it. I can not select and move to next step. This also happens with the other functions like in Graphs menu. I know that Rcmdr uses Tcl/Tk interface. I do not have this
