Building an R package under Windows NT
I am trying to build a R 1.7 package under Windows NT. I created the DESCRIPTION file, the RD file and added the code to the R folder. I also downloaded and installed the Rtools package and have Perl 5.0. I know that Perl, Miktex, and gcc are working. I also have my PATH variable set correctly. I can fake install my package by removing the *.R from the code file, using Rcmd Rdconv to create

Error installing package sna
Dear R-users, These days, I have been struggling to install the package sna on my Ubuntu 8.04 laptop. My R version is currently R 2.7.2. And I had no trouble installing any other packages (including network). However when I run 'install.packages("sna")', compilation of C codes is ok, but a syntax error is reported when building help pages and sna does not want to install. I

makign help files by hand
Can someone tell me how to make up (eg) a library's html help files by hand? I think I ought to be able to use RCMD Rdconv for this but (R-2.10.0, MS-win) when I type (in a dos session) "rdcmd rdconv --help" I get a message to the effect that a perl script rdconv can't be opened. Can I do this from within R itself? And if so, how (in particular, what is the target file to

Rd and guillemots
First of all, thanks to those who've set up R to work so smoothly with Miktex-- even a total Latex bunny like me got it to work instantly, so that for the first time I'm able to run my Rd files through the Latex side of RCMD CHECK. Now the question/buglet. One of my Rd files contains the following: \code{mlazy( <<objname1>>, <<objname2>>, <<etc>>)}

help page for a function
Dear R People I have a function that I wrote. It's not part of a library, it's just a nice function. However, I would like to have a "Help" page for it. How do I go about doing that please? Thanks so much in advance! R version 1.5.1 for Windows. Sincerely, Erin -.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.- r-help mailing list -- Read

ActiveState Perl, cygwin and R (was: cygwin tar?)
Hello! I have just read mails in thread <http://tolstoy.newcastle.edu.au/R/devel/04a/0583.html> about problems with Cygwin and Rtools. I had the same problems and kept just the newest cygwin1.dll and things seem OK now. However I currently hit the problem with Perl (I have ActiveState and Cygwin Perl installed). When I tried to work with 'Rdconv' in Cygwin I get the following: $

Build R Packages (man)
Hi there, I'm trying to get the manual for an R package (that I'm creating) to work... Firstly, I created the *.Rd files (by following the instructions in "Writing R Extensions" and using prompt() in R, then edit the *.Rd files. I then copy them into the "pkg/man" directory as suggested by the manual. However when I load the library (successfully) in R, I cannot

Question on trying to build R 2.11.1 on Tru64(aka OSF1)
First I tried 'setenv R_SHELL /usr/local/bin/bash', as bash is the weapon of choice for the faculty wishing to use R, then ran ./configure as before. The ./configure output line using as R_SHELL for scripts ... /usr/local/bin/bash would seem to indicate that the R_SHELL environment variable was recognized and acknowledged. However, I got the same build error: gnumake[2]: Entering

Rcmd check problem
Hi, all. I was trying to build my R package with R 2.15.1 32bit and win7. I basically follow the routine in Steven Mosher's blog http://stevemosher.wordpress.com/step-10-build/ After I fixed the path, and built the skeleton of the package, I started command prompt and used the following commands in building my package Rcmd check myPackageName Rcmd build myPackageName Rcmd check

R v2.13.2 - Cannot find Rcmd on path?
Hello, I recently updated to R version 2.13.2. With R version 2.10.0, I often created and installed R packages, however, I cannot do this since updating. In other words, when I type in Rcmd build -binary PACKAGENAME I receive an error message: "Rcmd is not recognized as an internal...". I suspect that this is because Rcmd.exe is no longer installed in the bin folder, but rather, in

Rcmd? Where?
Hello, I got R 1.6.0 for windows and I need Rcmd, which was not included. Where can I get it? (I have to start R and give the name of the file with the R-commands on the command line, so that R is invoked together with its command-file "todo.R". Do I really need Rcmd for that? To write "Rterm todo.R" did not work.) Richard -- Richard M?ller - Am Spring 9 - D-58802

Rcmd install on Vista
Has anyone successfully used Rcmd install or Rcmd check on Windows Vista? I have been successfully been running R itself, just not Rcmd install and Rcmd check. Rcmd check fails, the Ryacas.Rcheck it creates is read-only, I don't have permission to delete it and I have to reset the permissions on it just to delete it. With Rcmd install I am getting the following which looks like I am running

Rcmd not working on Windows
I changed the path to include C:\Program Files\R\R-2.3.1\bin, but Rcmd check [package] just returns an error: 'Rcmd' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. Any ideas? I want to be able to compile this package on Windows. [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

Rcmd BATCH command line arguments
I want to run Rcmd BATCH with R_DEFAULT_PACKAGE=base so it doesn't load any packages, but it seems to reject this argument because it does not start with a '-' or '--'. Is there a different argument that will work? Thanks.
