Error in dimnames in R
Could anyone help me with some little problem? When I plot the frontier I
get the following message: *"Error in dimnames(x) <- dn : length of
'dimnames' [1] not equal to array extent"*(see below for detail). How could

Calculate a minimum-variance portfolio with fPortfolio
Hello everybody,
I'm running into an issue with the fPortfolio package.
1. What I want:
Calculate the minimum-variance portfolio on 20 assets with respect to the
following constraints:
- min weight per asset = 0% (i.e. no short-selling)
- max weight per asset = 10%
- min sum of asset weights = 100% (i.e. fully invested)
- max sum of asset weights = 100% (i.e. no leverage)

fPortfolio constraints, maxsumW
Running R version 2.6.1 under Gentoo Linux and using the fPortfolio
package, I am having trouble specifying a sector constraint. One of the
constraints to be imposed is that assets 1 and 2 together account for no
more than 13.63% of the portfolio. My attempt at coding that
constraint, "maxsumW[1:2Assets]=13.63" fails. The relevant section of
my code file and the resulting error

Multiple Mounts (streams) Managed by Virtual Sound Board
All,
I am looking for a way to manage multiple streams (mounts) by a virtual
sound board. For example:
mount-baltimore.ogg --> virtual channel 1
mount-philly.ogg --> virtual channel 2
mount-pitt.ogg --> virtual channel 3
mount-new-york.ogg --> virtual channel 4
Main Virtual Out (speaker output) --> Physical Channel 1
Any ideas?

Icecast Ices ogg mobile
Hello,
What is everyone using when you want to stream an ogg stream to a mobile
device?
I am running icecast2 ices and an ogg stream on a debian box.
Currently i am using the audio html5 tag to pull the stream from my site.

Password Change On Windows
Hi Community.
I have at least just one short question. Is it possible to configure
SAMBA in a way, that it notice the password change on Winn 2000 or Win
XP system and adjust this password change in it's one password file
without using LDAP or other password server?

16bit vs. 24bit
I bought this recently

But i have been thinking maybe it would have been better to get a 24bit
version

.ogg stream player
Hello all :)
I am looking to upgrade to a online, embedded player that will read
and display some of the meta data or maybe just the file name of my
.ogg files, like track and artist name. Currently i am using the
JOrbis Player. What is everyone else using? What suggestions does
everyone have? I am running icecast2 and ices on a debian server.

"session was cancelled" on large file xfers
I've seen a couple mentions of trouble w/ large files in the list
archives, but nothing that seems to resolve this problem...
When trying to move or copy largish files (~ >1MB) with WinN using
Samba 1.9.18p10 on a Sparc Solaris 2.5 system, things hang for a while
and then a dialog box pops up saying "Cannot copy {filename}: The
session was cancelled.

I am trying to run ss.exe using builtin DLLs. No luck at all:(
It seems it fails to send the message (sendmsg?) somewhere.
At the end, I get windows message box with the error.
Any ideas?
BTW, why does it ask username and password in console?

portfolio.optim and assets with weigth equals to zero...
Hello.
I don't understand a particular output of portfolio.optim (tseries).
I have 4 assets and the portfolio.optim returns an asset with weight equals
to zero.
If I do a portfolio.optim with 3 assets, without the asset with weight
equals to zero,
it returns a completely different result.
That's I would expected the same weights as the run with 4 assets.
