Here I attached my code for j=2 to make it simple. Originally I have j=4. Hope you can help. I need to run it for 1000 times My problem is: i) the value of F-test obtain from my simulation below is in negative

Highlighint rjs problem on a new product
Hi, Problem Summary: I have been trying to add the highlight effect to my table but everytime a new record is added the highlighting gives an rjs error. However when i click the add to cart button on a product that already exists inside the table, the highlight effect works. Is this because the partial must only have only one <tr></tr> in it and the <table> must be on the other

efficient R code
Last Friday, Gregory Chaitin (http://www.umcs.maine.edu/~chaitin/lm.html) mentioned that there can be no proof that a given code is the shortest for a problem, even within a language. Still, the script below, a replacement of the "TDT", one of the most frequently used tests in genetics (http://mustat.rockefeller.edu under "downloads") may get close. It contains a few

new function: showcolors {base}
I propose to add a function that allows to display colors selected by a text pattern or by color vectors in a plot. Wolfram Fischer #--- showcolors.R showcolors <- function( col = "red" , index = NULL , pie = TRUE , lwd = 6 , cex = 1.0 , main = NULL , sub = NULL , ... ){ n.colors <- length( col ) if( n.colors > 1 ){ main <- deparse( substitute( col ) )

A question about R2Winbugs
Dear R users: I was trying to fit a HMM with mixture of Gaussian into the dataset, and I tried to implement it by R2Winbugs. But I got the following errer. * Error in FUN(X[[1L]], ...) : .C(..): 'type' must be "real" for this format* Does anybody know what's the problem? Does R2Winbugs accept some matrix as inits? I would really appreciate your help. Thank you very much.

Possible to use array of spline functions for storing data?
Dear listeRs; I am hoping to provide myself the ability to interpolate mortality estimates within intervals for a range of conditions and ages. I have four mortality tables derived from the Society of Actuaries 2001 VBT tables that contains interval mortality rates by starting age and year of duration. I would like to flexibly interpolate using a large set (~4MM) of ages and conditions

Work around for power recycling after shutdown.return - TSSHARA UPS - nutdrv_qx driver - megatec protocol
Hi, I had an issue where after returning the power from a shutdown.return the ups would do another shutdown.return during the boot, and kept this forever. After some investigation I found the problem is a bug on the ups - TSSHARA model, driver nutdrv_qx: every time I shutdown with return, and reconnect the usb after the power is back it would start another shudown.return cycle. When I used my

Recoding a multiple response question into a series of 1, 0 variables
Hello R folks. 1) The question that generated the data, which I call Qx: Which of the following 5 items have you performed in the past month? (multipe response) 2) How the data is coded in my current dataframe: The first item that a person selected is coded under a field called Qxfirst; the second selected under Qxsecond, etc. For the first Person, the NAs mean that that person only selected

writing spdiags function for R
Dear R-list, I am in the process of translating a long function written in Matlab into R (mainly because I am a big of fan of R, and folks will not have to pay to use it :). In the translation of this function I got stack because they use spdiags, which, as far as I can tell it is not available in R. I have explored the Matrix package, from which I borrowed some of the functions (e.g.,

Getting high precision values from qnorm in the tail
Hello All I am looking for high precision values for the normal distribution in the tail,(1e-10 and 1 - 1e-10) as the R package that I am using sets any number which is out of this range to these values and then calls the qnorm and qt function. What I have noticed is that the qnorm implementation in R is not symmetric when looking at the tails. This is quite surprising to me, as it is well known

Is there a version of Speex like Fraunhofer MP3 codec?
John, Hi! I gave it a shot and am not sure of what exactly to do. I was able to choose it as the external encoder ok and then used the default settings, but when I gave it a try on the line-in sampling, Audiograbber wanted to record the audio as a wav and THEN apply speex encoding (which didn't work). That would probably be fine if I were using NTFS and could write files bigger than 4GB,

PR to test for users of Qx devices (blazer and nutdrv_qx)
Cheers, One PR waiting to get into 2.8.1 release timeframe is https://github.com/networkupstools/nut/pull/1652 stemming from issue https://github.com/networkupstools/nut/issues/1279 The gist of it is that "battery.voltage" and "battery.charge" were not always reported correctly with nutdrv-qx driver (might be handled better by blazer drivers though), and the overrides
