file encoding
Hello, Is file("out.txt", open="wt", encoding=ISOLatin1) (resp: MacRoman, WinAnsi) broken/unimplemented ? I am trying: zz <- file("out.txt", open="wt", encoding=ISOLatin1) cat(ASCII,file = zz, sep="\n") close(zz) on R162 for MacOs (carbon). Thanks. -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Jean-Pierre

Packages
I need to install some geostatistics packages that are not in the binaries, for example gstat. I downloaded rm171 and installed, and I even added precomplied packages successfully. Unfortunately, I do not know how to add packages available as gstat. If you can spare a minute, could you give me a lead on this? Any other pointers on using R in mac os x will be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much

Carbon R 1.5.1 + Bioconductor released
I have built and uploaded to CRAN the Carbon version of R for MacOS/MacOSX. You'll find the base set (rm151.sit) and the recommended packages (recommended.sit) separately or all in one single file (rm151_FULL.sit) on CRAN and their mirrors soon. I have also built the Bioconductor suite of packages (corresponding to the Bioconductor_1.0.tgz file) as it seems to be one of the most

library() with v. 1.5.0 for Mac OS X Carbon
I am having trouble with the library function of R Version 1.5.0 for Mac OS X Carbon when I try to load libraries that did not come with the R installation. For example, I put the Biobase library from bioconductor.org in the 'library' folder. R cannot find it, even though it can find the pre-installed libraries: > library() # this lists standard libraries such as 'boot',

I have wine 1.3.21 under Linux Mint 10 with all updates and patches installed. I put in the NFS disk and went through the installer just fine. Then I start the game (using the icon on the desktop, however the same bug is present when I start it with the .exe in the game folder) The game goes through the don't try this at home speach (which I used to be able to skip by clicking or pressing

installing carbon / passing PYTHONPATH to pip package provider?
My environment: Ubuntu LTS 12.04, carbon (https://github.com/graphite-project/carbon) 0.9.9 installed using "pip". I just learned why when I run "pip freeze" on a system I don''t see the "carbon" package even when it installed successfully - I should run it with "PYTHONPATH=/opt/graphite/lib/ pip freeze". (ref:

MacOS X cocoa and carbon for Linux?
Do you know about such implementation of the Mac OS API for Linux ? I was thinking would this be hard to be done ? Having in mind that the MacOS and Linux OSes have much more in common than Linux and Windows. The benefits of such projects will be great , as there is great diversity of applications for MacOS ,and if they can be used native in Linux there will be great advantage for all Linux users.

Summary: read.table on Mac OS X, CARBON vs. DARWIN
Thanks a lot, James!! The problem is fixed. On the version 1.4.0 Mac/darwin (the latest available version for this system) the function read.table (which is called from read.delim etc., too) has the bug you explained. Inserting the row nlines <- nlines+1 after lines <- c(lines, line) removes this bug. M. On Friday, February 22, 2002, at 02:33 PM, james.holtman at convergys.com

[LLVMdev] [PATCH] Support for ARM Run-Time ABI (FP and Integer helper functions)
I wrote that loop. :-) So now the differences between this patch and the one I had been sitting on are: * We have opposite condition codes in our FP comparisons. * This patch has integer division, which seems like a good thing, but wasn't needed for my A9 target. Are you sure about the comparisons? deep On Tue, Sep 28, 2010 at 9:11 AM, Evzen Muller <evzen.muller at arm.com> wrote:

RNG R/Splus compatibility
Starting with example Wichmann-Hill code from Brian Ripley I have been playing with a set of programs for getting the same random sequences from R and Splus. A copy is included below along with a test (which works in Solaris with R and Splus 3.3). The approach is somewhat different from the usual problems on this list as I am trying to get the same results from Splus as I get from R. However,

Can't save a graph to pdf in R for MacOS
Hi, I am using R 1.7.1 (carbon) for MacOS and I am running it on MacOS X 10.2.6. When I send a graph to the pdf device (or any other devices), I get a zero KB file name "Rplots.pdf". Before sending my graph to the output, I did: > dev.off() > pdf() > boxplot(... my graph commands...) > dev.off() Is this the correct procedure? I did the same procedure on another PC
