I notice that under windows, R puts help info (ie. the response to '?<function>') into a new window, whereas under linux, it puts it into the main console window. Spaces are indeed significant in \alias, and the treatment of leading and trailing spaces seems undocumented. (Four CRAN package authors have made assumptions here.) I'm running R from an Xterm window is OSX-Tiger. Graphical windows appear as they should, but I'm having trouble copying from them--using cmd+c or the Copy option in the Edit menu won't place the graph in the clipboard (when I paste into a running OS X app, I get whatever was the last copied thing from a non-x11 window). Listmates, I have a problem with compiz not honoring the special window settings in kde for xterm. In kde, I have the position and size of the xterm window set to a usable default. In KDE, the window opens to the proper size and location. In compiz, it is about 1/2 the size and never opens where it is set to open. Is there a way to have compiz read the default window settings for xterm?
