Own R function doubt
Hi to all the people again, I was writting a simply function in R, and wish to collect the results in a excel file. The work goes as follows, Ciervos<-function(K1, K0, A, R,M,Pi,Hembras) {B<-(K1-K0)/A T1<-(R*Pi*Hembras-M*Pi+B)/(Pi-M*Pi+R*Pi*Hembras) P1<-Pi-B R1<-P1*Hembras*R M1<-P1*M T2<-(R1-M1+B)/(P1-M1+R1) P2<-P1-B R2<-P2*Hembras*R M2<-P2*M

odesolve: lsoda vs rk4
I'm trying to use odesolve for integrating various series of coupled 1st order differential equations (derived from a system of enzymatic catalysis and copied below, apologies for the excessively long set of parameters). The thing that confuses me is that, whilst I can run the function rk4: out <- rk4(y=y,times=times,func=func, parms=parms) and the results look not unreasonable:

I would like to fit the following function on my data. out.nls<-nls(z ~ p1+ (p2*dat)+(p3*dat^2)+(p4*dat^3)+(p5*AgeS)+(p6*AgeS^2)+(p7*AgeS^3)+ (p8*(dat*AgeS))+(p9*(dat^2*AgeS))+(p10*(dat^3*AgeS))+ (p11*(dat*AgeS^2))+(p12*(dat*AgeS^3))+(p13*(dat^2*AgeS^2))+ (p14*(dat^2*AgeS^3))+(p15*(dat^3*AgeS^3)),

calculating correlation coefficients on repeated measures
Dear list, I have 9 repeated measures (measurement variable == 'Delta13C') for individuals (ID variable == 'Individual_ID'. Each repeated measure is "indexed" (right term?) by the variable 'FeatherPosition' and given as c('P1', 'P2', 'P3', 'P4', 'P5', 'P6', 'P7', 'P8', 'P9'). I would like to

Correlation question
Hi everyone, I'm observing what I believe is weird behaviour when attempting to do something very simple. I want a correlation matrix, but my matrix seems to contain correlation values that are not found when executed on pairs: > test2$P2 [1] 2 2 4 4 1 3 2 4 3 3 2 3 4 1 2 2 4 3 4 1 2 3 2 1 3 > test2$HP_tot [1] 10 10 10 10 10 10 10 10 136 136 136 136 136 136 136 136 136

Tranpose and Aggregate Data
Hi, I need to transpose and aggregate the 4th and 5th column of this data set (below). The period is 1 to 100 years and some period has 1 entry as shown in the example below. Any ideas how to do this. Thanks in advance. Noli ~~~~~~~~~~ From: P_ID CROP Period Ini_Age Area_Cut 83 SORI 1 31 528.2465512 84 SORI 1 32 74.55179899 85 SORI 1 33

Problem with sample()
Hi, I'm having a problem using sample() within a function. Basically I get an error reading: Error in sample(v, 1, prob = h) : non-positive probability Can anyone advise me as to the possible origin of this error? Here is my code #Discretised Gillespie algorithm function (From SMfSB, D.J. Wilkinson) gillespied=function (N, T=100, dt=1, ...) { tt=0 n=T%/%dt x=N$M

Identifying records with the correct number of repeated measures
Dear list, I have a dataset where we sampled multiple individuals either 1 or 9 times. Our measurement variable is 'Delta13C' (see below sample dataset). I cannot figure out how to efficiently use a vector command (preferably) or a loop to create a new vector of the names of the individuals sampled 9 times. Note that the 'FeatherPosition' variable will only be "P1" for

[PATCH 0/4] ia64/xen: paravirtualization of hand written assembly code
Hi. The patch I send before was too large so that it was dropped from the maling list. I'm sending again with smaller size. This patch set is the xen paravirtualization of hand written assenbly code. And I expect that much clean up is necessary before merge. We really need the feed back before starting actual clean up as Eddie already said before. Eddie discussed how to clean up and suggested

reemplazar valores en texto según condiciones
Hola, Algo que me está pasando con esta función es lo siguiente: A "p1" lo tengo que reemplazar por "p1_integra_datos" y a "p10" por "p10_cuales_rep", pero como p10 contiene p1, y así pasa con otras preguntas (p2 y p20, por ejemplo), me los reemplaza en ambas, cuándo lo que busco es otra cosa. reglas$condicion_final <-

Programming Problem (for loop, random # control, 3 dimentional graph)
Dear List, This is just a programming problem which i cannot seem to figure out. I am trying to get a set of power from a test (say, kolmogorov smirnov) out of a distribution (say, G-K distribution) as follows. I am trying to reduce to pain of writing the whole set of data points (p# below) using "for" loop. However, I seem to have some problem in it as the output "M" does not

A panel of contour plots through a iteration process
Dear all, as you can see from the code I want to create *a panel of 11 contour plots through a iteration process*. I found a thread that address the issue of plotting many contour.plots in the same device, but it does not address my problem! I emphasize that the 11 contour plots must be appeared in the same device through an iteration process and NOT individually! par(mfrow=c(4,3)) # I want them

[PATCH 0/8] RFC: ia64/xen TAKE 2: paravirtualization of hand written assembly code
Hi. I rewrote the patch according to the comments. I adopted generating in-place code because it looks the quickest way. The point Eddie wanted to discuss is how to generate code and its ABI. i.e. in-place generating v.s. direct jump v.s. indirect function call Indirect function call doesn't make sense because ivt.S is compiled multi times. And it is up to pv instances to choose in-place

[PATCH nbdkit] partitioning: Support MBR logical partitions.
An evolution of the patch I posted yesterday to qemu-devel (https://www.mail-archive.com/qemu-devel@nongnu.org/msg588920.html) which (a) works and (b) has a test. Rich.
