Large folders and timeouts
I have been having persistent issues with server timeouts on operations
on large folders on our Dovecot install (1.0beta2 RPM that came with
Fedora Core 5). Some observations from today...
I have a Maildir folder with 38,000 messages (it is my Spam folder,
naturally :-). In Thunderbird 1.5.0.2, if I click on that folder, it
slowly but steadily downloads the headers and after 3-4 minutes,

[lattice xyplot] Help needed in help in customizing the panel.abline() function
Hi folks,
I need some help in customizing the abline() function to be used in a
lattice plot. I have attached a reproducible example below.
I need help in the following snippet:
disc <- xyplot(cnt_gt50pct_disc ~ week_num|sku_num, data=DF,type =
"h",lwd=2,panel = function(...) {
panel.abline(v = 8, lty = 2)
panel.xyplot(...)
})
Is there a way I can give

Problema con Histograma con porcentajes usando ggplot
Estimados
No he

Gracias. Alguna idea de que usar para calcular los porcentajes y
almacenarlos. Se puede usar flat table?

Problema con Histograma con porcentajes usando ggplot
#Simple table con frecuencias absolutas y crear relativas
count =table(ess$stflife)
percent = 100* (count)/sum(count)

ess %>%
filter(cntry %in% c("DK")) %>%
count (stflife) %>%
mutate (freq = (n /sum(n)*100))%>%

Asterisk Sip Proxies and SIP persistence
All,
I am looking into open source idea's for something I play with on
the closed source side. What I am thinking is to get two Asterisk PBX's
behind a single SIP proxy to load balance calls inbound, and potentially
outbound to an external sip provider, with the potential of multiple
provider type lines (SPA3102, and a sip provider) that allows the call
to persist.
What I am

cluster/distance large matrix
Hi all,
I've stumbled upon some memory limitations for the analysis that I want to
run.
I've a matrix of distances between 38000 objects. These distances were
calculated outside of R.
I want to cluster these objects.
For smaller sets (egn=100) this is how I proceed:
A<-matrix(scan(file, n=100*100),100,100, byrow=TRUE)
ad<-as.dist(A)

Extreme value distributions (Long.)

Hi Kelly,
Try running 'iostat -xdmc 1'. Look for a single drive that has
substantially greater await than ~10msec. If all the drives
except one are taking 6-8msec, but one is very

is there a packge or code to generate markov chains in R

if i have data in the following time series format:

where states could be n and time periods t is there a package in R that would calculate the transition probabilities in a markov chain.
for each t except t=0 to generate
