RScript.exe and map directory issue
Hi, I'm trying to run on Windows 7 a scriptfile with Rscript.exe from within Excel 2010 with the following code: Call Shell(rPath & "\Rscript.exe C:\Work\Latest\_Test.R", vbHide) The good news is: the above code works perfectly, but ... If I add white spaces to my map directory, like: Call Shell(rPath & "\Rscript.exe C:\Work\Latest 1\_Test.R", vbHide) In the

Restrict package to load-only access - prevent attempts to attach it
Hi, I'm developing a package whose API is only meant to be used in other packages via imports or pkg::foo(). There should be no need to attach this package so that its API appears on the search() path. As a maintainer, I want to avoid having it appear in search() conflicts by mistake. This means that, for instance, other packages should declare this package under 'Imports' or

read.xls: number of sheets
Hi, I'm trying to read several Excel sheets from an Excel file into a list. I'm using read.xls from package 'gdata'. I would like to know how I can check the number of sheets before the loop (in the example below) so that I could adjust the loop counter? Any suggestions? DF.list <- list() for (i in 1:4) { DF.list[[i]] <- read.xls("sample_file.xls", sheet=i,

RODBC - XLSX files - dropping/clearing sheets
Hi! I'm manipulating XLSX data using RODBC, however a limitation which appears to be driver based is that you can't clear or drop sheets from the XLSX files, as per the following example: > library(RODBC) > xlsx<-odbcDriverConnect("DRIVER=Microsoft Excel Driver (*.xls, *.xlsx, *.xlsm, *.xlsb);DBQ=c:\\documents and settings\\desktop\\testxlsx.xlsx; ReadOnly=False") >

EZStream and Cue Sheets
Hello, Fedora and CentOS don't have any prebuilt packages in the standard repos. Here are a few guides from the Liquidsoap community, specific to CentOS. http://puck.in/2013/12/install-liquidsoap-1-1-on-centos-6-4/ http://sourceforge.net/p/savonet/mailman/message/31330094/ On Wed, Jan 7, 2015 at 10:05 AM, Steve Matzura <sm at noisynotes.com> wrote: > Looks like it's what I

EZStream and Cue Sheets
In my experience liquidsoap is a lot easier to compile from source on Debian or Ubuntu. Both platforms also have packages in the repos. To experiment it might be easier to spin up a small local VM, or there's always a digital oceans droplet, or EC2 micro instance. are there reference lists/cheat sheets for categorized commands?
prepping to teach a 5-day CompTIA linux+ course next week with CompTIA-supplied courseware and, given that it was my choice, i chose to set up the classroom with centos 7.4 on all the student systems since i assume most students are there to learn sysadmin and that's the most likely platform they'll have when they get back to work. also, most students are taking this course to prep for the

Solution to single-file CD archiving, with cue sheets
I discovered FLAC earlier this year, and wrote flac-archive to archive my CDs to single FLAC files. I've been archiving my collection for months now, and have gotten it to a reasonable level of stability and robustness. I recently looked over this list's archive and saw a number of questions about doing this, with no clear solution emerging. So, here i am to offer my meager tools.

FW: Re: Writing xls - multiple sheets
Jorge was kind enough to point out that I made a mistake in referencing gabor's solution. See below. EZStream and Cue Sheets
Looks like it's what I need. Do you know, is there a distro or repo for Fedora? Or should I build it from source? Problems saving Excel sheets using Office 97 on a Sambashare
Nathan, Thanks for the tips. Most of these settings were already in place, but the ones that were not already there I set up, with the exception of the 'force group' setting. I hesitate to try this simply because many of the subfolders under the shared volume are have their access controlled by group, and I didn't want to risk preventing others from accessing their files in the middle

export tables to excel files on multiple sheets with titles for each table
Hello R-users, Checking the archives, I recently came across this topic: "export tables to Excel files" (http://r.789695.n4.nabble.com/export-tables-to-Excel-files-td1565679.html#a1565679), and the following interesting references have been proposed: http://rwiki.sciviews.org/doku.php?id=tips:data-io:ms_windows

Flac files with internal cue sheets
I wrote a somewhat quick and dirty player for flac files with internal cue sheets. It is curses-based, and I've tested it under linux and cygwin. It uses OSS for audio output. EZStream and Cue Sheets
I may have asked this before, but either I didn't, or I've inadvertently discarded the message containing the answer, so pardon please if this is a repeat. Wil EZStream ever support cue sheets--a companion file containing metadata information normally inserted into the stream from that contained in the multimedia file itself? More play-out software is including the ability to produce

Read & name multiple excel sheets using RODBC
I'd like to be able to read multiple sheets from an excel workbook and use the sheet name to name the resulting dataframe using RODBC. at the moment i've figured out how to do it the long way (see below) but feel sure that there is a speedier & possibly automatic way to do it in R. i've tried to run a loop using sqlTables but it seemed to break the connection. unless i've

Cue sheets/Tagging question
You should read the manual for the FLAC command line utilities. There are many options that would probably achieve what you desire. In particular, one of the links that I sent below clearly leads you to a page describing how cuesheets are related to the SEEKTABLE, and you can create a --seekpoint= marker for each track. Sometimes you really need to take the time to read everything

EZStream and Cue Sheets
I could, but I have this big old Fedora system just waiting for me to get LS working on it, so I think I need to concentrate on making that happen. If it's hard, difficult, tedious, inconvenient, then that's what it is. I want the cue sheet capability some way somehow, so I'm just going to have to knuckle down and buckle down and do it. Right?
