eventloop
Hello. I'm writting a glx device and I've some performance problem with the eventloop registration system. The device is not refresh when there's no X event. That's problematic for animation and "smoothness" of display. Should I use threads or fork the R process to get and independant way to refresh my device ? Or do you know another way to refresh it ? Installing rgl in R2.0.1

I have found XLispStat's spinning plots illuminating. I'd like to do the same thing in R. regression in batches?
Hello, I have a data set that's too large to load into memory all at once to do a simple linear regression on. What would be a good way to do a piecewise (batch) regression on it in R? cameraa rotation graphics
Dear all, Is there a camera rotation for 3d graphics in R. I have seen it in a conference one time and thought it is pretty neat. the presenter was able to rotate the 3d graph with dragging the mouse up down left right. unable to install package ff
Hi all, I've had one of my most miserable R weeks in memory. I'm trying to deal with huge datasets (>1GB each) but am running up against those pesky memory limits. The libraries filehash and g.data are not very suitable for what I need. I haven't gotten into the sql thing yet. In the last few days I've received couple of messages pointing out that our SparseM package fails to install on the patched version of 1.7.0. Laurent Gaultier kindly suggested that replacing: setGeneric("as.matrix.csr") by setGeneric("as.matrix.csr", function(x, nrow, ncol, eps) standardGeneric("as.matrix.csr")) was sufficient to fix the problem.

Hi, I am a biologist (relatively new to R) analyzing data which we predict to fit a power function. I was wondering if anyone knew a way to model piecewise functions in R, where across a range of values (0-x) the data is modeled as a power function, and across another range (x-inf) it is a linear function. This would be predicted by one of our hypotheses, and we would like to find the AICs
