Help documentation of "The Studentized range Distribution"
We cannot help you understand what you are doing if you do not show us what you are doing. Here are some discussions about how to communicate questions about R [1][2][3]. Help documentation of "The Studentized range Distribution"
Well, it is clear enough that the problem is in interpreting the documentation. However, when you claim you tested something, and found it inconsistent with tables, it would be advisable to back it up with examples! The description in the help files and in the sources is admittedly confusing. The original paper has this, rather more clear, description in the abstract: "We consider the

Thanks to Mr.Liviu Androvic and Mr.Richard Rowe helped me in PCA. Because I have just learn R language in a few day so I have many problem. 1) I don't know why PCA rotation function not run although I try many times. Would you please hepl me and explain how to read the PCA map (both of rotated and unrotated) in a concrete example. 2) Where I can find document relate: Plan S(A), S(A*B),

Help documentation of "The Studentized range Distribution"
Dear all, I wanted to compare Bonferroni vs TukeyHSD correction over a range of groups and group sizes, and wanted to use the function qtukey. In the help documentation it says qtukey(p, nmeans, df, nranges = 1, lower.tail = TRUE, log.p = FALSE) Arguments q vector of quantiles. p vector of probabilities. nmeans sample size for range (same for each group). df degrees of freedom for s (see

Requery: R 1.0.0 for Win95 and clipboard
Noone answered so I guess this is not possible, but can anyone definitely put me out of my misery... 'I have just begun using R 1.0.0 for Win95. Can someone please tell me how to put a data frame on the clipboard, and how to read data into a data frame from the clipboard.' Is this something that's planned? The clipboard seems pretty fundamental to Windows (and other OS?). Thanks

remove quotes from the paste output
Hi, I'm generating the name of the variable with paste function and then using that variable name further to get the specific position value from the data.frame, here is the snippet from my code: modelResults <- extractModelParameters("C:/PilotStudy/Mplus_Input/Test", recursive=TRUE) #extractModelParameters reads all the output files from the Test folder and create the

varimax rotation difference between R and SPSS
Hi, I am puzzeled with a differing result of princomp in R and FACTOR in SPSS. Regarding the amount of explained Variance, the two results are the same. However, the loadings differ substantially, in the unrotated as well as in the rotated form. In both cases correlation matrices are analyzed. The sums of the squared components is one in both programs. Maybe there is an obvious reason, but I

function optimization: reducing the computing time
Dear useRs, I have written a function that implements a Bayesian method to compare a patient's score on two tasks with that of a small control group, as described in Crawford, J. and Garthwaite, P. (2007). Comparison of a single case to a control or normative sample in neuropsychology: Development of a bayesian approach. Cognitive Neuropsychology, 24(4):343?372. The function (see

La_library() always returns "" on R-devel?
Seems like this in 83986 [1] needs a fix in Lapack.c: if (dladdr((void *) F77_NAME(ilaver), &dl_info)) { char buf[PATH_MAX+1]; char *res = realpath(dl_info.dli_fname, buf); if (res) { SEXP nfo = R_NilValue; if (strstr(res, "flexiblas")) nfo = R_flexiblas_info(); if

FLAC: joining source files
Hello, Here's a script i use to join multiple PCM source files and feed them to FLAC. In the future i plan to add tag support from static CDDB (files). It would be nice if this feature could be incorporated to the native encoder. Another idea is to have flac/metaflac support joining FLAC files themselves (but this is much heavier to implement) -- and may pose issues with meta info like

strwidth and strheight for rotated text
Dear All, I would like to plot text with a box around it. I used strwidth and strheight to compute the size of the box which is plotted with rect: z <- rnorm(10) # horizontal text works plot(rnorm(10)) x1 <- 5 y1 <- 0 label <- "Label" cha <- paste(" ", label, " ", sep = "") xh <- strwidth(cha, cex = par("cex")) yh <-

SEM - standardized path coefficients?
Dear list members, In sem, std.coef() will give me standardized coefficients from a sem model. But is there a trick so that path.diagram can use these coefficients rather than unstandardized ones? Thanks Steve Powell From: John Fox <jfox_at_mcmaster.ca> Date: Wed 28 Feb 2007 - 14:37:22 GMT Dear Tim, See ?standardized.coefficients (after loading the sem package). Regards, John John

Confidence intervals for estimates of all independent variables in WLS regression
I would like to obtain Confidence Intervals for the estimates (unstandardized beta weights) of each predictor in a WLS regression: m1 = lm(x~ x1+x2+x3, weights=W, data=D) SPSS offers that output by default, and I am not able to find a way to do this in R. I read through predict.lm, but I do not find a way to get the CIs for multiple independent variables. Thank you Torvon [[alternative HTML

Dovecot auto vacation with sieve doesn't work
Guys, I'm running out of hair to pull out ;). Can anyone out there say that this does work?? To me this is looking like a bug and I'm not sure whether it's the sieve plugin or the dovecot deliver program. I have also had no luck the the "reject" sending any reply back to the sender. My setup: OS: Solaris 10 sparc platform postfix: 2.5.2 dovecot: 1.1.2 sieve plugin: 1.1.5

calculate response probabilities using sem-analysis
Hi everyone, I just conducted a structural equation model for estimating a response model. This model should predict the probability that someone is responding to a direct mailing. I used the sem package for this. When I have my coefficients I want to know how well my model predicts the probability of response. How can I calculate these probabilities? I tried to use the unstandardized
