testing ajax responder actions
I have an Ajax responder method which uses respond_to to make sure it
only works with Ajax. I''m having trouble figuring out how to call this
action successfully. I''m using Rails 1.2.x. Any thoughts?

Ajax.Request: onLoading executed after onComplete in IE

i''m trying to use a visual indicator for my Ajax requests. It''s based on the
shopping cart demo at script.aculo.us and works great in Firefox, Konqueror
and Opera, but fails in IE6. For some reason (timing problems?) onComplete is
executed before onLoading, so the indicator is shown but not hidden when the
request has finished.

Ajax.Updater from within an IFrame
Hello together.
I''m trying to call an Ajax.Updater from within an IFrame to update an
element in the parent window.
It is working, but I receive an error from Firefox when I do so.

Rails AJAX slow compared to Node.js and websockets complex to implement in rails ?
I have heard alot about Node.js and watched a few tutorials and read some
stuff. I get the impression that in certain situations AJAX calls with
node.js is alot faster than with rails. I also have somewhat of an
impression that with Rails web sockets are complicated to implement but
with node.js web sockets might be alot easier.

Which JS/Ajax library to use with RoR

I am beginning to soak myself into JS/Ajax stuff and I am quite confused
because of the myriad of AJAX books/frameworks - Its even worse than RoR
in this sense (i.e. in the case of RoR, half of the people are writing
books on it, and i believe this value is even higher with AJAX ;-) Of
course this is not a bad thing, but if a newbie has to choose something
it can be really hard.

Ajax calls in application.js (authenticity_token problem?)

I have a long list (~50) of items which should each be clickable and
will send an Ajax request to the server. Now, each item will be calling
the same action, just with a different id.
Ideally this looks like a clear case of putting the Ajax javascript in

ajax problem when switching from prototype to jquery
