Is there a standard way of programmatically firing an event on an element? I think this code works in IE but not FF: myElement.fireEvent(''onclick''); I really only care about IE and FF, but anything else is a bonus. When trying to install Microsoft Foundation Classes I find that winetools gets stuck on the mfc40.dll download. I can download mfc40.dll via my broswer, however. Where to stick this file, so that winetools can find it, and not need to download from dlldump.com? I'm on Ubuntu with the KDE desktop installed, if that matters. Thanks. based on Aake's ideas, I wrote this script. It installs 32-bit and 64-bit wine on Ubuntu 10.10.
