Lisp-stat and R? [was: Re: Status?]
John Fox (see below) raises important questions for
the Lisp-stat community (and perhaps the R community) to consider.
This message thread was not cross-posted to r-devel@lists.r-project.org,
so I do so now.
I have never been an active or particularly adept Lisp-stat programmer. But I
have worked on or used several projects for which Lisp-stat seemed the ideal
environment-- for implementing

Can R handle medium and large size data sets?
Dear R experts,
Is it true that R generally cannot handle medium sized data sets(a
couple of hundreds of thousands observations) and threrefore large
date set(couple of millions of observations)?
I googled and I found lots of questions regarding this issue, but
curiously there were no straightforward answers what can be done to
make R capable of handling data.
Is there sth inherent in the

up/down/delete functions for list items, problem with bound parameters
Hi all,
I am dynamically creating an item list with div containers. Because of
this dynamic nature, I am using the element.observe method along with
the bindAsEventListener() function to bind its execution to within the
object that creates the div in the first place.
The problem is that the POS argument I am passing along with it is
forever being bound to that element. This is causing a problem

I've got two H.323 Client connected to Asterisk, when one of them requests

Re: Rails Digest, Vol 19, Issue 611
Thanks szymek for putting me on track. What I did was re-intstall the
file_column plug-in but I still got the same error so I added @recipe =
recipe and then then error changed to something about nil.first. So I added
a
rescue "no image"
to the end of my image_tag like so
<%= image_tag url_for_file_column("recipe", "image") rescue "none" %>

Encrypted password problem with icecast 1.3.11
Hi All,
I have recently downloaded and compiled IceCast 1.3.11 with the crypt option
turned on. Once I did this I have not been able to access the ADMIN console
through telnet. I got the latest version of mkpasswd from CVS and compiled
it. I have included the encrypted version of the password into the
configuration file and then started icecast.
Am I doing something wrong? One thing that

since about 10 days I've been working on an implementation of ogg vorbis

the specs and some questions.

input en markdown
Hola lista:
Gracias.

Problems with Krb5/GSSAPI patches in FBSD 4.3
Hi,
I am trying to impliment OpenSSH v2.9p1 with the Krb5/GSSAPI patches at:
http://www.sxw.org.uk/computing/patches/openssh-2.9p1-gssapi.patch
On a FreeBSD 4.3-STABLE system (with both the integrated Heimdal libs and
the MIT Krb5 package from ports intstalled). I patched the src tree,
reconfigured, recompiled, installed, and it works - except for Krb5
passwords or Krb5 tickets. And I really
